Ultimate Shift Upgrade (6MT)

A little update on what I've been working on. Ordered the Omni quick release master clutch cylinder for a 8th gen SI. Checked the part number for both Acura and Honda and they are the same, so I'm sure it's going to work. My plan is to make the ultimate shift kit for the CU2 and share it with the fam. Here's what I have so far.. Clutch masters FX350, 9 pound light weight flywheel, Ktuned shifter bushings, CT short shifter adapter, heeltoe braided clutch line, omni master cylinder, modified slave cylinder, Torco RTF and MTF oil, and Motul dot 4 brake oil for the master cylinder.

Alright, so you're updating us in the cu2 squad page too.

You think you'll notice a difference between the oem and new master/slave cylinders?

I will be updating people on both. Master cylinder will make a world of a difference because there will be no lag and pedal engagement and feel will improve. There will be minimal lag from the slave cylinder as well, our cars are notorious for shift lag and rev hang.

I heard that the shifter bushings could bend the cables if you shift fast. Did they update them with bearings?

There are no bearings inside, I hope I don't bend the cables.

Oh man, yeah don't use those bushings. I would hate to see you bend those cables. They are very expensive to replace!
Heal toe was supposed to release a new and improves shifter cable bushings but they never did.

I did the bushings near the beginning. they were solid, and the first time I tried shifting quickly, the cables immediately bent. There was too much free play.

The others that were alluded here in this thread we made for the cl9 chassis.

But like so many promises, nothing came of it other than "....."

I would do just the SS braided cable first.

Clutch engagement is very touchy, you can feel the moment the friction material is bitten down on, it's pretty sweet.

As for the LW flywheel, no idea. Someone did this years ago, but said the car never ran right?

I have no idea, I just used the Civic SI flywheel in my set up.

I installed the bushings on Thursday when i took the car to the shop. Didn't do any quick shifting, so the cables are not bent. shifting did improve and it feels in place very nice. Heeltoe auto told me that the 2007-2008 TL will work.

I did the LWF and the car did not run. According to Vit-tune there is a way to bypass that issue.

Yea whenever my clutch goes I'll do a LWF. I've searched a little but didn't see much for TSX, good to know if an SI will work.

Which omni CMC did you purchase and have you installed it yet?? My CMC is squeaking and I need to replace it and hoping to upgrade with an omni and do the slave cylinder mod but I want to make sure an omni CMC fits... Did you buy the steel clutch line to support this mod? Thanks!

UPDATE:

First impressions of the clutch... Feels amazing! Best clutch I've ever had in any car. Very forgiving yet aggressive. Great clutch feel, way better than oem. I would recommend the clutch masters FX350 to anyone.

Onmi master clutch cylinder... Changes the clutch feel to a full race car. Extreme on and off feel with no clutch travel. Hard to drive normal at first. Try at your own risk because it's very hard to install. The mechanic had to customize the line connected to the cylinder to make everything work.
