Hey guys,

Looking at getting the "THROWDOWN Stainless Steel Downpipe w/Cat-Delete" but have been reading about emissions in Massachusetts were it could be hard to get the car to pass inspection. I saw the other option is a High-Flow cat which seems to yield the same gains without the emissions issue.

Thoughts?

the downpipe is such a quick and easy install you dont have to worry about it. Just get it and when you go to get tested just pass by a mechanic, ANY MECHANIC that has a car lift and give em like 20 bucks to lift up your car and help you pop out the new pipe for the old and ur ready to go. Its a bolt on part, no need to worry, unless you wanna spend ALOT on a new cat

 

Thats true, I think i'll go that route. Just keep the OEM one for changeovers.

 

in NJ, i might just leave it on, the guys around my area just do a visual inspection and dont really check the emissions...

 

if its a visual inspection just tell the inspector that the cat is located right off the head.
