tried to PM you but you cant receive. here was my message:

you have to undo these screws attaching the grille to the bumper. but just open your hood and take a look. not only do you need small hands, but a small screwdriver.

there is one bolt on the left and right side of the grille. There MIGHT be tabs on the bottom of the grille too..i cant remember. if there are, you definitely need to remove the bumper. I say just remove the bumper lol.

Oh, and use the search...someone posted up the diagram of how the bumper and grille are connected. cant remember the thread name though. it might be able to help u. good luck!

Question

Did you ever have any luck removing the grill without taking off the bumper? I want to remove the lower trim to have mine repainted or wrapped in vinyl.

Removing the grille while the bumper is off the car is difficult enough. I can't see anyone being able to take it off while the bumper is on.

Unless the 09-10 grille is a lot different than my 11+

also 11+ exp but OP is 100% correct. I took upper grille out with bumper off and cannot see any way with bumper on. Lower grille would be the same deal IIRC as the fogsand grilles mount after the big center grille is in.

i guess my question would be "why the aversion to taking the front bumper off". Mine has been off twice and there are no SIDE effects/.

Well my mechanical skills are somewhat limited and when something could go wrong it usually does. I could see myself getting it removed but not being able to get it back on.

For me back on is easier than take it off. Hardest Part at taking it off are the clips under the headlights. Clipping the bumper in again, is not that hard.

Thanks for the pics, that answers my question. Looks impossible to remove without taking off the bumper. Looks like I may have to give plasti dip a try. For those that have done it before - does it fill in small scratches or must those be addressed prior to spraying?

Maybe?

You might get a better response over in 3G TL though.
