is the injen intake worth it?

jw if the injen cold air intake is worth the money for the 2.4 motor i had one on my g35 and it was worth every dime just looking for some more pep and to keep my warranty

ed_423 01-10-2012 03:28 PM

yes and no. i do love the extra pull and placebo effect, and the sound in CAI mode is great. its a bit loud in SRI mode though. i got mine on sale so i coudlnt complain more

live2hit01 01-10-2012 03:34 PM

i enjoy mine. i say get it.

MrOtocinclus 01-10-2012 03:42 PM

Did you post that from a smart phone?!

CT-E icebox is better! :snicker:

ed_423 01-10-2012 04:09 PM

^ +1, if i have the funds, i'd get the ct icebox.

TSXKid2010 01-10-2012 05:28 PM

I think my injen was worth it 100%. The sound it produces is amazing. A little stronger pull and slightly better gas mileage (when you're not gassin' it just to hear the intake...)

GameOver69 01-10-2012 06:01 PM

worth every penny. got it for around 250 with hydroshield. Icebox was too expensive. but no regrets!

For a while, about 1-2MPG more. not much but whatever, I'll take it. Then I started enjoying "spirited driving" and the injen caused me -5MPGs :ugh:

Yes, I had to remove the front bumper assembly. It's not too hard just time consuming.

savclaude 07-01-2012 07:03 AM

i like mine i just hope it was a bit quieter

imKing 08-03-2012 01:56 AM

is there a real difference between a short ram and a regular sized one? I live Vancouver where it rains quite a bit and having a regular sized one, im scared of getting the filter soaked.. any thoughts?

khoacu2 08-03-2012 08:28 AM

I said get comptech one of the best intake you can get in the market worth every penny and best of all it dont sound like a ricer with a autozone filter

SPEND A FEW MORE BUCKS AND GET THE BEST

Slade037 08-03-2012 02:14 PM

Few bucks more? I think we have 2 different opinions on that ...

Must be nice to make Khoacu2 money. :tomato:

khoacu2 08-03-2012 03:06 PM

Haha only $200 more I WORK AT ACURA SO NO MONEY HERE LOL

mmafighta 08-06-2012 11:04 PM

Is it worth it...Perhaps not. You can find the same performance by just removing the silence resonator...and that'll save you a good 250 bucks.

However, I love the sound injen CAI makes, it resonates through the cabin.

It all depends, its not a must have, but like any other aftermarket tune up, if you think its worth it, then you will pay for it.

The clips and the way Honda attached the front bumper does make it time consuming. Goddamn, was it a pain in the ass to remove my stock silencer.

imKing 09-08-2012 08:20 PM

YES YES and YES. Im in love with my Injen CAI probably the best purchase this year other than the car.

Mr. TTL 09-08-2012 09:17 PM

I have always been a fan of the AEM Dryflow. Installed an AEM CAI on my TSX. No pulling off of the bumper (access through the fender liner). No fitment issues, no funny sounds, just pure CAI intake sound and better performance. A CAI is a good thing if you are OK with intake noise, I personally like it and have never had any issues with AEM.

BLKOUT714 10-19-2012 12:15 AM

What are the differences between these 2 intakes? Mr. TTL which one do you have installed?

AEM 21-697P Cold Air Intake System Acura TSX 09-10

AEM 21-697C Cold Air Intake System Acura TSX 09-10

ConKy 11-08-2012 11:25 AM

if anybody is looking to buy an injen.. check out Thmotorsports, they sell them $234 free shipping, i just ordered mine on 11/1 and got it on 11/7 and as far as if it worth it, it is 100% worth it love the pull, sound and the gas mileage increased slightly

i got a CT-E Icebox and its well worth the coin. There is not much extra sound unless I get over about 4500 rpm. It is super well made. Near impossible to hydrolock like a long ram. Looks factory to the untrained eye :2cents:

khoacu2 11-11-2012 02:11 PM

im getting mine when tax come in

CaGui1223 11-17-2012 11:28 AM

Hey guys,
all the websites I've searched show intakes up to 2010 TSX. Anyone know which ones would fix on my 2012 TSX SE?

Thanks!

all intakes that fit the 09-10 will fit the 2012 TSX SE

happy shopping

luder917 11-17-2012 01:18 PM

Just remove the intake resonator and save yourself $230+. Then buy the intake if you still have the need for it. That way you'll learn how to take off the bumper and the resonator is already off so the installation if the injen will be a breeze.

Mwursthorn 12-15-2012 10:42 AM

What is better aem or injen?
