Since the engines are virtually identical, I thought I'd post this so you guys can see the potential of this motor...

Pricing
This reflash is specifically tuned for the USDM 2012+ Civic Si K24Z7.

Hondata is shit.
Weve been asking for sooo long

Not impressed by the numbers, our cars need torque. 1st gen tsx got 15-24 tq increase. Not worth it.
#6
It's definitely better than nothing, and definitely better than $500

No it's not compatible with our ECU.

I believe you would need to send the ECU, immobilizer and your keys in to get the job completed. During this time you would not be able to operate your car. This might be the biggest turn off to some people.

I could take the bus for a week for a good reflash. Someone e-mail hondata a link to this thread and tell em theres demand for a reflash!

the k24a3 and k24z7 are mechanically identical...I can see a reflash for the tsx as being completely feasible. Regarding gains, consider the fact that this car doesn't have a "real" vtec system like the previous gen tsx...with that, the horsepower and torque increases on a completely stock vehicle are incredible.

O man, why cant they just be on our side for once....thats not even fair

I hope this gets through for our cars. My car is definitely better after getting it reflashed. Having a more affordable and easier option would be great for all the owners.

How exactly do they reflash an ecu? Is it a program that wipes everything clean and reinstalls or what? Kinda like jailbreaking a phone? I mean how did gosha do it?

you mail your ecu, they install a new map (think of it like installing a new skin on your phone's os), and then they send it back...car is good as new but with more power!

So what's the deal? How hard is it to make a new map? Why not just ask gosha to purchase a separate flashing device and send one here? How hard is it? Plug and play right?
#23

^ agreed haha. But for real... Ok so gosha obviously has different units to flash these cars, and I'm sure he is not the only one to have a "reflasher" Can it simply be purchased and sent to the US?

the unit to flash ecu's can be purchased, I'm sure...in fact, hondata makes a unit like that that plugs into your car's obdII port. The problem is that they don't think the market for producing these units is strong enough to warrant the effort...opportunity cost at it's finest, i guess.

im baaaack!!
How about someone does an online petition to hondata, get names or try to get a group buy that would at least cover The r&d cost. Shouldnt be hard for them.

Burning Brakes
I know if there was a group buy i would def fork down, for obvious reasons i really want this

we would probably need at least 20 names in order to get them to look our way

Burning Brakes
LOL, you'll probably need more than 20. Check out this thread:

^damn, 120+ people...at least they got it, lol

So we all pool up the money to buy one, whoever puts in the most gets it first and as your reflash your ecu you send it to the next person on the list. Perfect! Where do we buy?

Perhaps a better question is "would you trust a ECU remapping where the entire R&D costs were covered by 20 people signing an online petition?"
The TSX market is far different from the Si market. The majority of TSX owners will never mod their cars (or come to a forum) whereas virtually every Si will end up with extensive mods by the time it is put out to pasture.
Any remapping for the TSX will be much more expensive due to the lower volume and it probably won't be as sophisticated.

^given the similarity in engine design, etc I think that very little would be needed in terms of the actual mapping. I think it's more a function of hacking into the ecu in order to allow for the new tune

It ain't gonna happen with twenty names on a petition.

So whats the deal with hondata saying they would release it on then not do it? They already tested one here in the US. Nothing has gone wrong with it. Whats the hold up?
