CT Icebox owner experiences

Looking seriously at installing one, can those who've installed tell me if it's worth the price? That is, is there really a (10hp/lb ft-torque) noticeable increase in power/mileage beyond placebo?

I did speak to the service dood at Acura & his only concern was the removal of the resonator and driving through water, I've known this guy forever and he's always been pretty straight with me -- Did you do anything to mitigate the possibility of it gulping water in a deep puddle?

TIA,

Geoff

Only thing you can do to mitigate this is by not driving through deep puddles. I had an R18 that was slammed and the cold air sat right behind the fog light on the drivers side. I never once had any issues with this. And I am one that loves to "puddle bust". Just make sure your not punching it through the puddles too, and you should be fine.

well youd have the same problem with a CAI too. Get SRI config if it really bothers you. Like saucy said, just go easy through puddles. The more you push your throttle down the more engine the air will demand, so if you are gentle in the rain your engine wont be sucking in tons of water by accident

had an AEM cold air on an 08 TL for 3 years. only once did i have trouble i got stuck driving through a huge parking lot puddle i didnt realize how deep it was. it wasnt really the depth but the wake from other cars and sucked in some water but didnt hydrolock. had to idle for almost an hour to be able to drive home. put in some additive to get the water out and was fine after that.
