Backup Sensor for 2012 TSX
Backup Sensor for 2012 TSX
I think I would find an audible sensor better than a rear view camera. You can't view the video and look out the back at the same time. But you can both look out the rear window and hear a warning at the same time. Am I missing something?
The acura.com offers a backup sensor for $257 plus installation of about $250 (varies by dealer or DIY). Has anyone installed this or used other aftermarket products with any good results?

Just a heads up- I've finished installing backup sensors. Overall, I feel bit disappointed.
1)Any objects beyond 90cm, the sensors fail to sense them. The manual states it should make a slow intermittent beep starting 160cm away. Try 100~ 90 Cm instead.
2) Low objects (curb) are not captured by the sensors which I find this to be a huge disappointment.
3) My sensors (sometimes) skip out intermittent (slow) beep and starts beeping fast when object is 60 cm away- again- the sensors aren't sensitive enough to sense distance objects. And believe me I was backing up real slowly too.
Overall, for $400-$500- I don't feel it's worth the money nor the time to install the sensors. I had ebay sensors on previous car. Although it sometimes gave me a false reading, it sensed objects much farther away. Best of all, it was only $20. So I advise all the tsx owners to have a second thought when installing genuine acura sensors.
