as long as I've been here and as long as I've had my acura people have proclaimed injen as king of the K24 CAI, especially with the one that converts from CAI to SR.

Honestly dude they're all more or less the same. Metal tube that the air sensor attaches to, tubing, and a filter at the end. Really they should all give more or less the same effect. The only two options that should really be considered is cheap intake (injen, takeda, etc) or the CTE Icebox. So for the other just try to find the cheapest because you're pretty much paying for name if an Injen is more then a takeda.

From what I've read the icebox is barely louder then the stock which isn't really what I'm looking for plus its almost double the price I think injen it is I just wish I could find a way to install it myself

The icebox gives a more stock perspective which is probably ideal for the purists. If you aren't out for looks and simply want sound, I'd say go ahead and get a cheapy.

ive basically decided on the injen, it does provide a small boost in proformance and it sounds better then stock. i can get it for like 260$. but i want to avoid taking it to a shop to install it and i dont think acura would install it, so that comes down to me doing it myself when i dont have enough knowledge to do it. the reason i dont want to take it to anoother shop is cause my mom has a volvo s80, and we took it to a local shop to get a head light replaced, well apparently they didnt put the bumper back on correctly or something so now the car has like a basically hanging bumper and other issues caused by them so any informational guides would help.

Instructions come with the intake. If a 16 year old who has never touched a car before in his life can install it, you can too buddy!

And small boost in performance? Placebo effect, man. LOL. Sound, sound, and sound.

Dude, I've seen you post a few times that CAI only provides a sound difference, not true dude. While it is unlikely that it adds 14 HP as Injen claims, 5-8 HP gain isnt unrealistic. The actual HP gain could be debated but the CAI brings more/cooler air in and simple logic tells you that = performance gain.

It's power, but it's not real NOTICEABLE power is what I'm saying. Maybe it'll be noticeable with other small mods, but by itself, I'm sure I'm not the only one who will say that after a intake, they feel any power gain.

Ok cool, just making sure you weren't being litterall when you say it only adds sound, absolutely nothing else. And trust me, I'm not saying to go buy a 3 point harness seatbelt and racing slicks once you put an intake on, but a little bit extra pull at certian timesmight be "felt"

Haha I can see where the misunderstanding comes from. I "feel" it at 7000RPMs

SRI is a piece of shit. I felt a noticeable decrease in power between SRI and CAI. Used SRI for 2 days and switched out immediately. Dont buy it for SRI, if you live in a rain soaked jungle environment and/or canada just take out your resonator

and to OP. if rain is your concern, here's how i see it.

K&N intake (its a sri and comes with heat shield)
Injen (u can change it from sri to cai anytime you want)
ct icebox (its a cai, but the opening does not go too low so its a lot harder to suck up water with that one. but pricy)

or just simply remove your resonator and drop a K&N filter and call it a day.
