About to pull the trigger
About to pull the trigger
I am in process of getting my parts all lined up to order soon. Purchased my TSX in July of last year and have been saving since. I have a list of items I am looking to pull the trigger on here in the next week or two. Hope to get a nice day in order to install and possibly put together a few nice, picture heavy DIY's on installs for these items as well. Let me know what you guys think of my list. Open to all opinions, comments, concerns.
Tein SS
19" Axis Elites
Not sure on tires(open to suggestions)
K & N Short Ram
5000K bulbs in Headlights and Fogs

Quite a big fan of the Tein SS coilovers! Though I like the look of brighter lights (6000k/8000k) but that's just me :P
Also, when your mods are done, could you please give a review/video about the K & N short ram please

My plans are to purchase by this weekend or very early next week. Once parts are all in, I plan on taking install pics of all, completed videos of intake, and possibly creating DIY's on all installs. I am really looking forward to this. Thanks for input everyone.

All money is being transferred to paypal account. Once it hits that account, it is game on. Do have one update though. Thinking of switching to the Takeda SRI instead of K & N. I am going to try and have all part numbers and everything needed to add to this as well. Looking at getting new tophats from Honda for the drop. Really wanting to add a window tint to this, but we will see how the funds add up when Im done with all else.
I can vouch for the takeda. If I didnt get the Takeda I probably woulda got the K&N. Honestly though, all of these intakes made with the traditional intake design are all pretty much the same, thats what i think
i think they are all incredibly similar in that they all have the same basic design and so it will really come down to a matter of preference. There has been a similar thread discussing it before im almost sure. For whatever reason the injen has seemed to be most popular
I think the name helps Injen out, I had that on my old R18. As far as which is better, there are many forums out there and going to the individual sites and looking at specs is your best bet. It is strickly a matter of preference. I chose Takeda because it was a little cheaper and because it comes with a dry filter. Not a large issue. Some filter systems come with oiled filters and some with dry. No significant difference though. Im like a kid in Wonka land right now waiting on parts. Believe I will be going through excelerate for my Tiens and ebaying most everything else except tophats and accesories.
The Injen might very well use a dry filter, never stated that it did not. I originally had the K & N filter, I was just stating that I chose the Takeda due to price and dry filter in comparison to the K & N. Again, none of these things really make a large difference in performance, still just a major preferance.
My 4 giant rubberbands should be arriving today, hopefully with a few other things. The rest should be here by the weekend. Having it all delivered to parents house so that I can have access to the impact wrench (very nice). Also, I will try and go pic crazy for you guys. Is there a way to import a file into the forum vs creating the DIY in the forum? ie: word, pdf, anything like that? Or will I still have to import all pics one by one? Wow that was a noob question for me.
Thats the main one I want to do as well. Hoping my brother will take the pics for me so I dont have to do one thing, stop take a pic, pic up tool again.....on and on. But I plan on doing one for both that and the SRI install too. Will get video for sound of SRI installed.
One question, do you guys think I will need to roll fenders with 19's on a drop. Really hoping no, but when in Rome.
Well,Well, Well. What do we have here. Just got the first shipment of goodies in. Tires, Coils, and other small pieces to be shown later. Sorry for low quality pics, promise that install pics will be much better.
Tires: Falken FK 452 235-35-19

Coils: Tien SS

UPS, basically knows my stepdad by name now, Between his orders and mine. I will continue to update as more comes in. Not sure when all will get installed. Have to figure out how I am going to do the TPMS sensor swap, or purchase new. Hopefully will have all that figured out this week too.

A little off topic but I am into le mans series racing just a bit. If you are as well Scott Sharp just purchased some Ferrari 458's for his Patron team. They just got them wrapped. They look amazing. Check out his page on Facebook if you guys have one. Wait who doesn't have Facebook.
Very exciting, look forward to the DIYs. You will be fine with 235-35-19, no rubbing or required fender rolling. As for the TPMS sensors, if you're not planning on using your stock wheels for winter mode or whatever, you can transfer them over to your new wheels, if they fit. Otherwise, you'll have to order new ones, or do like defcon and go with none and just deal with the MID bugging you about it.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
Yea, I am stoked about this. I cant deal with those error lights. So I am going today to get them transfered and wheels put on. Sunday should be the day the coils go on. Doesn't look like my SRI will be here until Tuesday. Bummer. Saw that another forum member did a DIY on installing his Tien S techs but I may still put together a DIY for mine.
Honestly, not sure on exact pricing of all pieces. I have a friend who has a friend who has a friend that owns a shop and is going to do it for 80 bucks total, and to mount my original tires back too so I can use those for spares or sell them, either way. Will post Monster Truck pics a little later.
