USB songs show up duplicated (need help please)
I posted this under someone's semi-related iPod thread and did not get a response, thought I may get help if I made thread...
All of my songs on my USB Flash Drive show up duplicated on the TSX (non-tech) screen and the duplicates display as"Unreadable file" then slowly moves on to the next track and plays on it just fine, so all the even tracks play and the odd numbered tracks are unreadable. When I view under folder scan it displays something like this:
01 No Line On the Horizon (plays fine)
02 No Line On the Horizon (unreadable file)
03 Moment of Surrender (plays fine)
04 Moment of Surrender (unreadable file)
Every song is duplicated like this even though when I look at it the files on my computer (Mac G4) it shows only one copy of each song.
I have some utility program that shows hidden files and I did not see any duplicates.
Not a huge issue, but very annoying as there is almost a 10sec. delay as it has to skip to the next track after the unreadable track. If I am on random it sometimes comes up with three unreadable tracks in a row!
Any suggestions on my file duplication issue?
Thanks.

Mac OS X likes to leave these little files around on PC-formatted disks. I know a lot about the technical issues behind it and I don't think they're doing the right thing here, but the good news for you is that I found a couple of utilities that can help out:

http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/20036/blueharvest
If you use these with your USB stick before you eject the volume, they'll clean up the files for you.
