USB Folder One, Folder Two?

When using a USB memory stick, the system just shows Folder 1, Folder 2...etc, even though my folders have names.

Am I just configuring my folders wrong or is this as good as it gets?

The tunes are all in WMA format if that matters.

Ben

Did you name the actuall folders and then put your songs into those folders. I don't know if you have a tech or premium but with my tech the folders are numbered 1 to x. with the folder name.

I have a premium. If I recall, the folders named themselves as I was ripping from the CD's.

With the Premium Radio if you select the large "Enter" or "Select" button it will display the album name of the folder the mp3 song file is saved in. Rotating the select knob will move you through the set of folders displaying the name of each folder. Select the album name and it will display the list of songs in each folder. To ensure this works save the files to the usb flash drive in the same folder structure as the Windows Media player uses to save mp3 files.

USB file duplicating?

Some really good tips here. Thanks SimpleStan, nice to see the folder names!

I have another USB issue and would like some help if anyone can please:
All of my songs on my USB Flash Drive show up duplicated on the TSX screen and the duplicates display as"Unreadable file" then slowly moves on to the next track and plays on it just fine, so all the even tracks play and the odd numbered tracks are unreadable. When I view under folder scan it displays something like this:

01 No Line On the Horizon (plays fine)
02 No Line On the Horizon (unreadable file)
03 Moment of Surrender (plays fine)
04 Moment of Surrender (unreadable file)

Every song is duplicated like this even though when I look at it the files on my computer (Mac G4) it shows only one copy of each song.
I have some utility program that shows hidden files and I did not see any duplicates.
Not a huge issue, but very annoying as there is almost a 10sec. delay as it has to skip to the next track after the unreadable track.

Any suggestions on my file duplication issue?

Thanks.
