Upgrading stereo components on a nontech
Hi everyone. I have some knowledge about doing this but need some further advice. I currently have 2 10 inch woofers in the trunk amped up. (this was professionally installed)
- i just recently purchased polk mm6501 for the fronts these are components(comes with tweeters, midrange speakers and crossovers) and plan on purchasing mm651 coaxials for the back and a separate amp to power it.
- eventually i also want to change the head unit but no time soon. I do have a high low converter i think its a PAC. What i need to know is would adding an equalizer help this sound system. I saw mr. mercman wrote the clean sweep is unnecessary for our vehicles. I feel the subs really aren't as good as they should be. I even turned them facing into the car (which i know is probably not good to do) hoping for better sound. This did help a bit. I also hear a "pop" sound when i shut off the car.
- any thoughts
- for now I am gathering all the materials i need to add the extra amp and 4 speakers. (have to upgrade my power wire and such and possibly dynamat).

any cheaper options. Both are a bit steep for me. At that price i would prefer to buy new headunit. I just wanted something to help the headunit sound a bit better as well as my aftermarket speakers without having to change the headunit.. was looking to stay under 250
