Talking There is a Pause Feature (Tech)

Okay, I am probably the last to know this lol but I always wondered why there was no pause feature when playing CDs. I discovered very accidentally that there IS a pause feature, and this is activated by hitting the same number the disc you are currently playing is located. For example, if you are playing disc 2 out of 6 in your changer, hit the number 2 and the song will be paused. Hit the number 2 again to resume.

I am probably a total moron for not knowing this beforehand (yes I admit it, I have yet to read my entire owner's manual ) but I figured I would pass this along to others who may not know either and find it helpful.

How is the 40 gig hdd working for you? Do you have the tech package? I was thinking of doing the same thing, but was not sure if it would work.

The 40gb hdd is working fine, Its a normal Laptop drive. I put instructions on how to use a hard drive or flash usb drive. Its got to be formatted in FAT32 and after you load the files, make sure you run foldersort (link in one of the posts) to put it in alphabetical order.

Yes, if you press the number of the CD currently playing it will pause, press it again, it plays. Example if you are playing disk #5 then pressing the #5 button will pause play.

Thanks, and I am glad others like this find also...and now I don't feel so badly for not knowing beforehand either.

Oh and to those, "Who uses CDs?!?" comments, don't forget that some of us are old-school cats who had a rather large CD collection before the existence of mp3s, and never bothered to take the time to upload our collection to our computers, etc. Yes, we're not just things of legend, we do exist and some of us are still out there.

When they come up with a good way to convert the CDs 44.1 sample rate I might consider going with it. My CD collection replaced my vinyl collection, and I have no desire to downgrade any further. If I want mp3 quality I’ll turn on the XM.

I think the 2012 TSX ELS will have a HD.
