Speaker wiring diagram?
Anyone have a speaker wiring diagram for the 2nd gen non tech. I want to know if the tweeters and mids have separate runs to the back(yes i know i can just pop open the rear side and look at the amp) and what side the wires are on. I feel like there's noise in my system and i think its b/c the power wire is going down my passenger side and that might be where the speaker wires are.

I have the diagram for 2011-2012. Don't know how different it is from 2010, but the 2012 non tech has seperate wires for mid and tweeter. The entire harness to the factory amp runs down the passenger side, but the outputs from the amp to the speakers run down each side to the respective speakers.
I'll try and scan the diagrams later, if you need them.
From what I understand, the signal to and from the amp is dirty with a lot of noise and there's little you can do about it. I upgraded my entire system due to the noise (but I also wanted it louder) and it still has static.

Yeah I remember PMs a while back.
What do you mean you upgraded to an optima?
I got a Helms manual. It was the only one available when I bought the car. Was like $150, but I've done so many mods that it was by far worth every penny.
I'll take pics of the diagrams later today. I'll try and post them, but I only have my work phone with me and can't resize the pics from it.

I'm not sure which diagrams you need.
One pic is of the 24 input to factory amp.
Second is 18 pin is output.
Another is the overal system diagram.
Let me know if you need anything else

and i was looking to see the way the wires were run from the back to the doors.. was this included in ur helms? i may just go pick one up to then..
and.. from my research it seems the speaker wires should not be on the same side as the power wire.. this might be why u are getting noise

That's in the manual. It's in a section with all of the wire harness connections. I'll try to scan those when I have a chance.
Unless you run your power wire down the center of the vehicle, there is no way to avoid speaker wires. they all run down the passenger side to the stock amp, but run down both sides when going from the amp to speakers.
I think it's not so much running the power wire along with your speaker wires, it's running your power wire along side or near the RCA cables.

thanks man..i dont want to go down the center.. i figure the only other option would be to run new speakers wires and all of it just on one side..idk if this would help.and do u have rca's running down one side? i took the signal from the stock sub so my rca's are in the back.. i want to try n figure this out..
and what gauge did u use for the big 3..was it hard getting the power on the alternator? thats my next thing to do... i want to do it soon

MY RCAs are also in the back. Unless you put your amp under one of the front seats, you won't have RCAs running down the vehicle. You can run your power wore down the driver side to avoid the wore harness going to the stock amp, but it's much much easier to get thru the firewall on the passenger side.

Ok, let's try this again. Hopefully the pics come out clear this time.
First pic is the wire harness running down the passenger side. Second pic is the list of coorelating connectors from that harness. All the speaker inputs to the stock amp run down this harness. Also, some of the speaker wires from the amp output run back down this side to the front passenger door speakers (and rear door in the ELS system).
Third and fourth pic is the driver side harness and coorelating connectors. Includes wire to subwoofer, left rear deck speaker, and front driver door speakers. (Rear door also, in ELS system.
More to follow:

I'm not sure what order these uploaded in, but one is of the 24 pin amp input and coorelating wire colors.
Another is of the 18 pin amp output and coorelating wire colors.
Third is a general wiring diagram of the entire system.
Let me know if you need anyting else.

yeah..currently i have it(power) on the passenger side.but i had someone else install it..i'm looking to upgrade it so need to re-run it..is the grommet behind the glove box? i couldnt see where it went without ripping things out.. or is there another spot on the passenger side? i'm probably gonna go with the drivers side
thanks for the pics man..this is all i need for now. gonna spend some time reading them to understand them haha..
..and.. and any advice with the big 3?

You have the grommet correct. You can see it easily from under the hood. That's also the easiest way to feed the wire. Thru the grommet from the hood and after a couple of feet you'll see it come down from under the passenger side footwell.
There's another grommet on the driver's side, but it's much harder to get to and a lot more wires run to it.
The big 3 is pretty straight forward. I would suggest adding to the stock wires instead of cutting and removing them. The wires don't run straight from point A to B. Be careful with the nut on the alternator. It's small and strips easily. Besides the battery to the chassis, there is only one other ground wire, so i also added a few extra grounds.
Battery voltage is a tiny bit higher and doesn't drop quite as much during starts, but haven't noticed and difference in performance or improvements in sound quality of the stereo.
