Siri (iPhone 5) and 2012 Tsx Tech

Hey there everybody-

Having an issue with my TSX and iPhone. I have searched the threads and learned that there is no way to have the phone have any text or email alerts while connected to HFL (major bummer). But now, I just got an iPhone 5 (Verizon) and Siri never works while connected to HFL. I mean never works period, not just hands free.

I click the home button and hold, she pops up and the doesn't react at all. There is a small "audio source" button that pops up and I can choose iPhone or hands free link, but that does not respond either. Does anyone know a fix for this?

It's bad enough I can't hear any text alerts while driving, but now Siri won't work with my car. I thought the tech package would be much more technologically advanced (Acura Advance...???)

Can anyone tell me their experience, please include phone and carrier (maybe a Verizon CDMA issue?)

It's not just you... I posted about this a while back. I absolutely LOATHE the Bluetooth and voice dial/commands on my 2012 TSX Tech. My 2010 VW Passat let me dial ANY number in my address book by voice, without having to record a ridiculous voice tag. And it synced instantly with Siri and voice dictation on my iPhone, muting or pausing the music as it did...

To use either feature now, I have to turn off the stereo (can't mute it... there are 1000 buttons but NO mute, and the Vol switch takes several turns to make it quiet) and then press Siri or voice dictate 2-3x while it attempts to connect without success.

VW would also immediately update my address book with any new entires on my phone within seconds of starting the car. (would show on the screen "New Address Book update") With the TSX, I have no idea how to update the address book other than deleting the current one and (once stopped and in Park), reloading the entire thing from my phone.

Aside from enjoying the nav interactions and graphics, I've been totally underwhelmed with Acura's (formerly one of the highest-tech car companies) tech. Oh well... firstworldproblems

Doesn't work. Forget about listening to voicemail too."Base" vehicles have total functionality on both.

I finally figure this out guys. For '13 TL with Nav/Tech:

In phone setup (under Cellular phone menu after pressing the phone button), there is an auto transfer setting (phone to auto transfer to HFL or "Hands Free Link"). Turn this on. Any BT/Siri prompt from the phone will auto play through the speakers. Hope this helps. Also as an added bonus, when you dial from your phone - it actually "automatically transfers". Who would have thought it was this easy?
