Siri and 2009 TSX Basic HFL

Has anyone figured out how to consistently get Siri to work with HFL? I know you have to hit the home button from the phone, which is fine, but that doesn't want to route it through the speakers and mic. Been reading forums for awhile now and have not been able to find any clear cut answers/solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to know a way to make it work too. I can't get siri to work through my '12 tech ether. It ticks me off because I can use Siri on my ford escape with the POS sync system. Yet on my brand new Acura nothing! All I really want is the text reading feature.

I own a 2012 TL Advance and Siri works ok with the HFL. I just start Siri from the phone and then ask my question when I hear the tone through the system. Most of the time I use this to read text messages to me, but not much else.

Works fine for me. I just initiate Siri on my phone and wait for the Sound. I use it primarily to write texts

Are you using the USB cable for music? I usually do, but I have tried both plugged in and not. I press the home button, and Siri comes through the handset. I can place phone calls, and receive them Through the Hfl

Unplug your phone from the Acura USB
Connect with Bluetooth and if you still need charging get one of these http://amzn.com/B003LGT4WU

Now SIRI should work just fine no matter if your listening to the radio or whatever I just hold down the home button and then I speak I don't touch any buttons on the Acura, and I don't speak to the iPhone I speak to the HandsFreeLink microphone.

Now I was using "Siri" or iOS 6 the new talking Navigation because the Acura Navi sucks. Well I found out I couldn't listen to XM or anything else but Bluetooth audio and on Bluetooth audio the Navigation prompts would come through. It wasn't a big deal since I already use bluetooth audio for Spotify most of the time. However check your settings for whatever your doing the AirPlay icon is what helped me I forget whether it was in the Maps app or under Map in Settings. I believe the AirPlay icon was different for the Navigation prompts than for audio alone. You can access AirPlay by double tapping the home button and sliding to the left 2 times, dragging your finger to the right.
