Satellite Navigation vs DVD Navigation?

Hello all,

Does anyone know if the TSX uses satellite navigation or DVD? And whats the difference? Which one is better? I heard that the Honda Civic Si uses satellite navigation? I also heard somebody say that satellite navigation is only found on expensive cars, but Honda Civic Si is not one of these type.

Thanks in advance,

Satellite is used to track your position, the dvd is used to supply the maps. They work together. The Honda/Acura nav system relies on both.

That's right, the Honda/Acura Satellite-Linked Navigation System™* with voice recognition has an 8-gig DVD database to provide maps and directions.

You can buy updated DVD from Honda for around $185. The TSX is new, so it should be good for a while, and you can also check before you purchase the updated DVD down the road on which state/provinces are updated
