I have a Grigio Metallic (Charcoal grey) 2011 MDX and I want to put a roof rack on it. There is a black roof rack and a silver one, which one will look better?

I want to post in the right forum! Opps, I was going to go for the black, but I saw a post from someone who said they were going to get the silver because the black looked bad on his darker colored MDX (forgot the actual color he had). So now I am leaning towards the silver, I think they will look nice, but wanted to get other peoples opinion.

It also depends on other accessories like:
- window tint
- factory or aftermarket rims
- front and/or rear lower bumper trim
- running boards

I think you can go either way; just depends on how much black/silver/chrome you have with the above accessories. The blacked out look would look pretty sweet with your color combo (tint, black roof rack, dark rims).

I went with black roof rails because I thought it looked better with my black aftermarket rims and dark trim.

 

again, the black is meant to help blend in.
the silver is to provide contrast.


so, it just depends on you....do you want your roof rack to blend in?
or to have a little contrast?

 

I am going to go with silver to match the window trim and wheels. I like the black with the black wheels, but I have stock silver wheels, sooo just need to get management approval now :-)

 

Black looks better IMOP.

 

OK, JTRADAR61, you scared me off. I am torn between the two options. Does anyone have a picture of a grey MDX with the silver roof rack?
