Just playing around with my 09 TSX. I did *not* purchase the Tech Package (sadly) so have the Acura Premium Sound installed, which does not include Rear Door speakers.

For those of you who installed these, what do you suggest? Did it make much of a difference (overall sound quality) -- and -- did you install an AMP?

I believe the rear doors are pre-setup for 6.75" speakers...

 

humm.. ELS and premium sound system are fundamentally different systems. I'm not even sure the rear doors on non-ELS systems are pre-wired, and in the event they are, the non-ELS amp may not support 2 extra speakers.

Has anyone here with the non-ELS system checked if there is pre-wiring on the rear doors?

 

if i remember correctly there is no wires that go to the back door so you will have to get that done too

 

No wires, for sure. I'll have that done, but the housing on the door, should fit 6.75"

I'm shocked that no one with a prem has done anything to their car? Anyone?

 

Any updates on this? I wasnt even aware that there were not speakers in the rear door but knowing that I feel as though Im going to need to put a pair in.
