options for getting music on to hdd (11 tech)

I have 15 GB of music, and exactly 0 cds. is there a way to export my music from my flash drive to the HDD? or, what about burning the folders to a dvd, and then uploading it in 3 or so disks? I'm sure acura thought of a way to do this, but I can't figure it out.

The only way to rip music to the HDD is from a CD. You can play music from a flash drive, but cannot download music from one to the HDD. I don't think you can even burn MP3s to a disc and then rip them to the HDD. I'm pretty sure only original factory CDs can be ripped because of Digital Rights Management protocols. So I'm afraid you'll only be listening to your 15GB of music from a connected flash drive or MP3 player in the car.

While it's true that you can only way to rip music to the HDD is through a CD, it doesn't necessarily have to be ripped from an original factory CD. If you have music in MP3 or WMA formats, you can convert them to WAV files and then burn the WAV files to a blank CD. You can then rip the music off the CD to the HDD. This worked for me.

you can just have ripped mp3 cds and copy them to the HDD. Only problem is that gracenote won't recognize them and you'll have to input artist name, track name, etc... all manually.

If you successfully transferred an mp3 disk to the HDD, can you tell us how?

I just put in my burned cd with .mp3 files on it and when it went into the disc player in my car, it automatically recorded them to the HDD.

I even tried it manually and it also works that way.

Did it keep the artist, track names, etc., as well?

Have been transferring a lot of music to my 2012 TSX HDD. MP3 files can be read but are NOT copied to the HDD. The manual is also quite clear on this.

You don't need original or copied complete CDs. Some music software like Itunes will let you make a CD in wav with the title/album/band info per track. So if you have a bunch of individual songs from Amazon or Itunes you can still burn it to CD and then upload it to the HDD with the info. I found this out in the TL forum. Would rather just upload from a USB but it's better than nothing I guess.
