OEM LED Upgrades

Ok guys im new to the site I dont know if this has been asked before but here it is

i have a 2010 TSX Base....I already purchased LEDs for all of the interior and the license plate (white ones throughout), my question regards those very dim LEDs at the feet of the driver and passenger and the dim LED that is in the overhead unit which houses the map lights and sunglass case... They are both blue and very dim. I was wondering if anyone has ever upgrade them I dont want anything too crazy but i feel that they are too weak and a little more light could make a very nice tone...

Thanks

The blue led overhead is soldered in a circuit board i think, so you can really upgrade that. For the LEDs for the footwells, you can install a led strip. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ight=led+strip
I did white, but I recommend blue. I have to lower the brightness of my speedometer in order to have the LED footwells no blind me. lol

I just read it...Very imformative I might just try it out. Im not one to do much with cars lol hence why i just have stuck to LEDs...

Does this re-wiring of any sorts affect warranties on these cars? For some reason I feel that the warranty might be affected when you start messing with wiring in general but I dont know for sure maybe im just paranoid lol..

And is it just a regular bulb in there? Maybe we could put the same LED that is in the map lights or something simple just plug in and bam?

No plug in play . lol But t-taps are pretty easy to use. I recommend u buy strips from ijdm toys, though their prices expensive but their products r very reliable. The warranty would probably be voided if your wiring stops working for the footwells. But theirs a very low current running that your car imploding on you is very low.

I took the existing light and drilled a hole though the plastic light filter thing. The lights are not actually "that" dim, there's just a black plastic dimming the light. However, they are not as bright as an led stip.

A few things to consider if your state has periodic inspections or if the police in your area care about vehicle violations.

There are no legal aftermarket headlighting units. Buy these at your own risk.

What LEDs did you get for the interior and license plate lights? I have been looking and there are tons of them that would seem to fit our replacement blub numbers. Thanks!

Here's a link to a thread which has all the LED types/bulbs that work for us and that gives good output.

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tsx-2009-2014-143/interior-lights-door-dome-vanity-etc-license-plate-lights-led-conversion-684754/

Note, for the dome/map lights, get the shorter one..I believe the 36mm one was too long.
