Navi Annoyance
Navi Annoyance
Ok, so I went from my Garmin Nuvi 360 and also a 2001 Acura TL w/ Navi built in (upgraded DVD) to my TSX. I have some gripes with it and maybe there are some solutions.
(1) It doesn't say street names!!! This is something that the 2001 TL did (after the DVD upgrade).
(2) It talks to much, I have the voice prompts set for Normal and it's always saying "stay straight" when I set it to Min for the prompts it doesn't tell me when to turn just that its coming up.
(3) How do I disable the system from trying to tell me the iPod artist names and station names when driving? I see how it is useful but it's really annoying hearing the front speakers mute to listen to her try and pronounce a name wrong.

1) It does say street names - I can't recall right now where in the menu system to set it. I think it's under Voice Prompts.
2) Yes it does talk too much at times... for example when I exit to the Mass Pike/Rt 90 Ramp on 93N in Boston. Tells me to "Continue on Ramp" 3 times before I acutally exit the ramp...
3) Not sure - don't use an iPod

Ok, I found something, well a few things... To say the roads I need to go to Guidance Prompts and select Max instead of Normal - the difference on seems to be that it "tries" to say the street names and only if the turn isn't coming up right away. For the iPod track names I think I need to turn the Interface Dial Feedback to "off" from Auto which reads the items only when moving.
Two more things, the iPod function doesn't have shuffle or does it and I'm just blind?
Also, when I make a call from my cell phone and not with HFL even though I do have the link how to I get HFL to pick it up? The phone things it did and disabled the handset but it won't enable the call unless I do it from HFL.

hit the speaker twice and the phoen call will go from your phone to the hfl.. the ipod thing mine doesn't even do, my ipod screen scrolls slow on my car and you can't even see the names for seconds at a time.. and good job figuring the voice thing out, i never listen to her anyway i have the voice all the way down and let it mute out my front left speaker to acknowledge me to look at the navi for further direction..
Thanks!
