HID question

Hi Guys

i have right now 35w 6000k hid installed on low beams. 1 ballest i think is bad. driver side keeps turning off and i have to turn on and off the lights to get it working again and only sometimes does it come back on.

so im thinking of getting 2 new ballast and going 55watts

questions is: do i need to change out the bulbs? and does any ballast work with my bulbs (as in connection)

thanks!

why don't you take it to the dealer if your ballast is going bad? factory ballasts are enclosed in the headlight so you'd need to take out the headlight to get to the ballast.

are you in the right forum? do you have a 2g tsx?

and don't get a 55 watt ballast if your wiring can't handle it.

i actually have a 2g tsx Canadian version base model hence it never came with HID but does have the HID projector housing hence i had to get aftermarket HID (the hid and leather option was 2700 more)

Right. In which case it is unsuited for HID use.

If you're up for more reading then try THIS and THIS

Canadian law pretty much mirrors US laws on lighting so if it is illegal here it'll be illegal there. The Acura has some of the best headlights out there (both halogen and HID and it would be a shame to ruin them for the sake of wanting the HID look.
