Question Help with using hands free for phone calls.

Need help. Dealer installed both our cell phones when we bought our tsx tech pkg. etc. Also our directories of contacts/numbers etc. Trying to figure out how all this works .
1 - They said only 1 phone works thru unit. Depending on which one of us drives how do you set it or whatever to know which person's phone you want sync'd?
2 - How do you answer calls on your cell thru car?
3 - How do you place calls thru car hands free system? Hit something, say call such and such or what.
This is all totally new to me and beyond this i know i'll have a mess trying to figure out the Nav. but look forward to some of that eventually. Haven't driven the 2011 that much yet with weather, etc. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not sure about the different phones. I didn't know you could pair more than one phone to it.

If you hit the button and say "hands free help", she will guide you through everything. It's pretty self explanatory after that but if you're still wondering:

saying "phone book" will get you in to the phone book, where you can then say "store" or "add" to add a new entry

you can also say "list" or "edit", list will give you a list of contacts added so far. Edit will let you modify one.

I spent about 30 minutes configuring it when I got my car. I did about 10 of my most used phone numbers.

As for answering phone calls, you just hit the talk button when it's ringing.

I advice you to read the manual given to you by your dealership. It's really simple. The salesman who sold you the car should have explained this to you on the day you got your car. Well, mine did so I didn't really need to use my manual.

1. You can pair more than one phone to the car. If the dealer set it up correctly the car will know automatically which phone is within range of the bluetooth. You can use the system's "list phones" feature to see which phones are paired.

2. Both answering and placing phone calls are made via the little phone button on the left side of the steering wheel. Press the button when you hear the incoming call through the car speakers.

3. Press the call button and say "dial" then the phone number.

You'll know if the phone is within range if you see the little bluetooth symbol on your center display.

If both of the paired phones are within reach of the system, the last paired phone will automatically pair. You can switch to the other phone by giving the "next phone" voice command to the system.

Thanks for advice to all. Won't get a chance to play with it for a couple days with work, but will see how things go. Tough teachin an old dog "me" new tricks. Noticed the Nav. system book as thick as the owners manual. That outta be fun one to comprehend. But one thing, that stereo is sweet. Considering the first car i owned (1969 Mach 1 Mustang) had an AM radio and 1 speaker. Upgrade with FM (mono) and 2 speakers eventually and then......yep, 8 Track.

Your phone should have bluetooth options - my phone has a choice that says "Connect on power up" I clicked - NO. I did this for both phones paired in my vehicle. When we both enter the vehicle a message pops up on our devices that asks us if we want it paired to Bluetooth Handsfree Link. That way we can choose whose phone gets paired.

Maybe this will be of help to you!
