Handsfreelink update???

Does anyone know if there is an update for the HFL? I had a 2010 loaner from the Acura dealer and it had more options on the phone setup menu like the fact that you can set up the automatic transfer. in otherwords, i can place the call from my phone and it will automatically transfer to the bluetooth. To my knowledge, my '09 doesnt have that option. I have to place the call from my car for the HFL to work. The other downfall is the fact that the phone book in the Navi is virtually useless. It is very hard to navigate and use, much less if you were trying to drive. it kindof defeats the purpose of "Handsfree." I also noticed that the call info showed on the nav screen of the newer model TSX but doesnt in my '09.

let me know if anyone has any info...

I experienced the same thing. I even contacted Honda to replace my system for a safety concern when my current system broke. The dealer tested the '10 HFL system and it is compatible but Honda would not cover the cost under a warranty replacement.

they won't cover it under warrranty. Honda appears not to provide software updates unless they "have to" for serious issues - Example, the latest non-navi radio software update TSB to fix a problem with the compass.

i did figure out last night that after the call is connected i can hit the talk button and say "transfer" and it will transfer, however it will only do this after the call is connected, not while it is ringing, so the very first thing people hear me say is "transfer." Then i have to explain what is going on, lol

I am curious as to what component i would have to replace to get all the upgrades. i noticed that the 2011 switch panel is slightly different. the bottom left and bottom right buttons were changed... i dunno, im gonna ask my service writer.

I have an '09, and I don't have this issue at all. What I do is dial from my phone and during that slight delay before the call actually connects on the network and starts to ring, I hit the button and say "Transfer". Usually it is transferred before (or during) the first ring.

My phone also brings up an option once it starts ringing to use handsfree link. I just select that and it forces the car on. I have an 09 so otherwise I'd have to say transfer to get it to come on.
