Question Dial Cell Phone entry by voice?

:gomer pyle voice:
Hi Everybody!

Fuzzy here.. just picked up my CPO 09 Tech and loving every minute.. but man is there a learning curve to the voice commands and nav system!

My question -- I've managed to pair my HTC Touch Pro and import the phonebook... and I can navigate through it and find the names and numbers I'm looking for....

Is it possible to dial a specific entry by a voice command? I'd be fine with adding a voice tag to it or something if there's an intermediary step between importing a phone book and adding it to voice dial..... alas my phone doesn't support the contact transfer protocol so "beaming" it isn't an option (but phonebook import does work...)

Fuzzy,

I did the same thing, imported numbers from my phone etc.. What I found out is you have to manually enter in the phone numbers in order to have them voice labelled.

If i remember correctly, do this: (remember, you have to click the phone button to give each command)

#1 Click phone button
#2 say "Phonebook"
#3 Click phone button
#4 say "Store"

then just follow the rest of the prompts it gives you

I found it easier to enter one number at a time.

Hope this helps ya

Sintari,
Makes sense -- but I was hoping I could voice tag the imported phonebook.... Not sure what the purpose is of the Phonebook import if I can only browse them with the selector knob; was really hoping the either use either my phone's decent name recognition or the car's while tied to the phonebook...

So after importing a phonebook, what's the purpose of "Save to HFL" link in the corner?

I just saw a video on youtube. In the TL you can add a voice tag to each#. I am thinking the TSX does this as well. You highlight the entry and press the NAV talk button to add a voice tag. I am going to post the video when i get home.
