Changing XM channels via steering wheel buttons?

For some reason whenever I hit the channel up/down buttons on my steering wheel while listening to XM, it just goes to the XM Preview channel and doesn't change the channel up or down.

So the only way other than the actual buttons in the center console would be for me to use voice commands.

Just wondering if this is just how it is or if I'm doing something wrong?

Thanks.

Have you programmed the XM channels? Once you enter them into the presets the steering wheel buttons let you scroll through the presets.

oh, they only work with presets? I thought they would work just like regular radio channels seek-style.

I can only speak from my experience/owner's manual (2011 w/ tech) and it only scrolls through the presets. Try loading your favorites to the presets and see what happens.

K100 is correct. Program your presets and the steering wheel control will let you scroll through them.

pressing and holding the steering wheel CH+/- buttons will let you scroll through the channels. Just pressing and immediately releasing the CH+/- button will take you the the next preset.

Note that you can switch to/from Channel mode and Category mode by pressing and holding the "title" button.

I still have not figured out a shortcut to be able to directly put the USB stick in "random" mode without going through the menu.

Thanks, that's a great tip, can't wait to try it on my way home tonight!

I thought pressing and holding the CH buttons just scans through them all?

Thanks for the info. That is something I did not know and always wish it would do. Now I know it will do it.
