Anything is possible... so I am guessing you can install a tech package into a base 2G TSX model. What's to it? Rear speakers, back up camera and a navi? Can I then call it a TSX w/ tech package?

 

you could say you have a tsx with a aftermarket tech package? it's not oem so yea...

 

If anyone knows where to get a cheap TSX nav system let me know...i think I need a new head unit

 

Short answer: Yes you can if you have the time and money.

Long answer: Cabin wiring harness is completely different. You would pretty much end up having to tear out the entire interior and dash to put the tech wire harness in. I looked up installing speakers in the rear doors in the service manual to see if there was just a plug already in there or if there's just a pigtail I would have to plug in the main harness, but the part numbers for the tech/non-tech wire harnesses are different.

 

Anything can be done if you throw enough money at it, but remember that you also have the climate control issue (GPS linked on Tech) and the BT phonebook transfer and voice commands. I'm not sure if those are in the nav unit or in different modules.

 

Trade for a Tech... come out cheaper and without the headaches and with a warranty.
