Bluetooth Pairing Problem ... HELP BEFORE I GO INSANE!
Hey guys,
I'm having a hell of a time getting my wife's RAZR paired to my 09 TSX. I have my iPhone paired no problem but I cannot for the life of me get the RAZR paired up.
Here's what's happening.
1. Do the pairing thing with the TSX HFL
2. Find the HFL on the RAZR and enter the PIN code from the first step.
3. Pairs successfully.
The problem is that once I turn off the car and turn it back on, the RAZR and HFL do not pair.
Am I doing something wrong? Is the HFL supposed to find the RAZR or is the RAZR supposed to find the HFL during the setup?
If the HFL is supposed to find the RAZR, then it's not happening. If it's vice versa, then it works fine but will not automatically reconnect once I turn off the car.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a trick that I need to know??? HELP ME PLEASE!

WTH happened to my garage
I have a blackberry pearl and when my car was new I had to pair them a couple of times to get it to stick.
I have a loaner TSX today and I paired my phone when I picked it up. The next time I got in the car it said "no phones found" then the following 2 starts, the phone asked if I wanted to accept from HFL and now it works.

Make sure that the Bluetooth is turned on in the Razr. From memory, when you press 'Find Me', the Bluetooth stays on for ~90 seconds, then turns off. Go into the 'Setup' and power the Bluetooth on. You can check this by seeing the Bluetooth logo on the screen or when the phone is shut, you should see a blue blinking light in the top right corner of the little outside screen. Good Luck.

Depends how long you have had the RAZR and the firmware in both your RAZR and the HFL system. Johnson Controls seemed to be the slowest responding manufacturer out of all the major manufacturers.

llcooljayce -- Did you ever find a solution for this? I am having the exact same issue and it's driving me mad!
I've also tried to update the software from the phone, but it just says that it's up to date (even though it looks like an older version than what they show listed as "compatible" on the Acura HFL website). Anxious to hear what you ended up doing! Thx

HTC Rezound
The HTC Rezound is not listed on the Acura website. The Rezound does not pair with my TL. I bet its not compatible. Oh well, frustrating. I guess it's time to get a Vette. haha I do like this phone though.

I'd be surprised if the Rezound couldn't pair. Bluetooth is supposed to be a pretty standard thing, no? If you're talking about Acuralink, I can understand (I think only a few phones are supported for that), but your Rezound should be able to be paired via Bluetooth... My HTC Thunderbolt works.

I had this problem with my blackberry, now i have iphone, it practically paired itself - incredible
Anyways you have to makesure that bluetooth stays on in the phone some phones will automatically disable bluetooth to save power as it does at to drain. Like my blackberry if the battery was below a certain level there was no way it would pair autoatically
best fix i found was to plug my phone into my car charger religiously when i got in the car, this gave the phone no option of turning the bluetooth off, also i found i had better call quality at full power levels.
Best fix would be to buy your wife an iphone (best piece of tech ive ever had)

My iPhone will upair itself at times. Maybe it does have to do with the charge. I'll watch for it next time. When it's paired up it works great.

I think I found the solution to the "Phone pairing" issue.
It seems that the car takes about 1-2 minutes to pair the phone once you start it up. If you try and place a call BEFORE the Bluetooth connects, is says "There are no phones paired with the system", and then the connection is totally lost. You have to re-pair it.
Now I wait until I see the Bluetooth Icon in the display area of the dash (not the NAVI screen), and then place the call.

One more thing I've discovered:
I turned my iPhone off because I was in a meeting. Forgot it was off, jumped in the car after the meeting and headed out. Turned on the iPhone while I was moving, then once I saw the Bluetooth icon on the radio display, pressed the button on the steering wheel to make a call. I got the old "There are no phones paired with the system" message. When I got to a light, I turned off the car, started it up again, and as soon as the bluetooth icon appeared, tried to make the call and it worked fine, without having to re-pair the phone.
Strange but true.

Whoever is paired first is considered phone 1. If you were paired after your wife, it will go to her phone by default, since it was paired first. You would have to turn the bluetooth off on her phone in order for yours to work.
