Aftermarket subwoofer frequency issues

Hi all,
First time poster here. I have been doing tons of digging around lately for my subwoofer instal in a 2010 TSX w/Tech Package. Installation of everything has gone well so far. Everything is hooked up and the components are working fine. My only issue now is getting the full range of bass to the new subwoofer. I have tried tapping both the rear deck speakers and the stock sub with a LOC. The best result so far is tapping the rear deck speakers and then turning the Dolby off for AUX playing (95% of what I use). Only problem with this is that the lows are nearly nonexistent contrary to the nonexistent highs that come from the stock sub wires. Has anyone found a way to get the best out of an aftermarket sub without using a realllyyyy expensive processor?
Thanks in advance for any help!

What kind of LOC are you using? Audiocontrol makes one (LC2i) that has a bass restoration feature for the dreaded "roll off".

Im just using some $20 rinky-dink LOC. Did some research on that LC2i and it looks promising. Do you (or any others reading this for that matter) have any personal experience using one? Id have to same some money for a while to get one.

I don't have direct experience with that particular piece but anything Audiocontrol makes is golden to me. They've been doing this stuff longer than anybody else in the market and are the benchmark.

I have a Kicker 10ZXSum8 I would sell to you for a fair price. I bought it for this same issue but never got around to installing it & sold all my music.
