It gets updated without driving. I've filled up my tires at a gas station with my car parked and watched the psi change. It takes like 30 seconds to update once I put air in.

I think it's calibrated via wheel speed. I usually have to drive it a few miles after the initial psi setting then readjust it so they are all even.

2012 TSX Wagon here. I have the same observation. I was pumping up the tires in my driveway using the air compressor (32 psi to 36 psi), and it took about 30 secs to 1 min to update.
