worst thanksgiving
bad news. so turns out i have to file through my insurance cuz the other guy's insurance is the lowest of the low...meaning they can't even pay me out the value of half my car...fucking blows.
adjustor came and looked at the car, and they're gonna take possession of it this monday...so no parts or anything. can't even take my good wheels cuz the guy took pictures of everything.

i hope your adjustor, not the other guys insurance. don't give your car to the other insurance... they cant afford it lol. can you/ your insurance sue the guy directly if his insurance is a fail?
just googled it, read this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uninsured_motorist_clause that means that you are covered for your dr bills, lost wage and shit like that. that doesn't cover your car though. your insurance is gonna cover that and then go after the other people, or you may have to go to small claims court. from what i read

Uninsured motorist insurance is also for the underinsured motorist - From GEICO's definition page:
"In some circumstances, may pay for your injuries or property damage caused by an uninsured motorist or, in some states, an unidentified driver. In some cases it also includes coverage for underinsured motorists and at-fault drivers with insufficient insurance to pay your claim. This coverage is subject to the terms, limits and conditions of your policy contract."
Finally, here is primer you may want to read.
You may want to carefully consider your next steps and get legal advice before you do something you'll regret.

^this is why I don't go with geico...why the heck would they make you on the hook for paying out what his insurance company doesn't pay. That's not fair and defeats the purpose of having insurance, imo. Generally, I heard that Geico is really shady when it comes to paying out coverage.
In all fairness, the guy who's handling my case said that it shouldn't raise my rates cuz its 100% the other guy's fault but then again, he's not the one that handles how they come up with the rates so i guess i'll see when the time comes? If it does go up, they will be hearing from me and might have to switch carriers...we'll see.

hmm thanks...i spoke to geico about my options and what they said was they'd send the adjustor, then i can go through geico then they'd go to the other guy's insurance to get whatever that insurance will offer (only 10k) and then geico eats the rest of the cost. since i'm at 0 fault, they took 100%, logically my rates shouldn't increase but since geico would be in the red even after getting country wide's offer, i think they might raise the insurance quote later on. we'll see. meh i'm gonna look for my guy's number to make sure that's my best option...
