why the difference?

Can anyone explain to me why there is a difference between the accord in the US and the Euro honda (tsx)? The tsx looks better than the US accord and it appears to be a step up so doesn't honda just sell the euro honda (tsx) here and do away with the US accord. The tsx is growing in size also and frankly the new US accord seems too large to me.

Uh, they do sell it here...

If you're asking why it doesn't have a H on the hood, Honda obviously thinks most people want the larger Accord, but still wants to be able to sell the smaller Euro version here. Acura needs an entry level car in its lineup, so... solution, meet problem!

You can turn your car into a Euro Accord if you like... lots of 1Gers have done that and I think some 2Gers already too!

Unfortunately, many Americans like large, soft cars with little road feedback, so the US Accord is better suited to this market than is the Euro Accord. Mazda has also fallen victim to this trend; after releasing a single smaller, sporty family sedan for the entire world in the 1G Mazda 6, it released two versions for the second generation. The Euro/Japan model continues in the vein of the 1G, but the US version has been "supersized" and softened for the American market.
