Whow - turbo civic si announced!

Just confirmed that Honda announced that a turboed k20 for the U.S. civic si is in the works for the end of 2015. They are investing 340 million in the Ohio plant just for this motor. Who's excited? I'll believe it when it's driving around on u.s. roads.

Either way i hope it's going to be better then the rdx motor. I'll take a turbo 2.0 over the 2.4 if they make it.

Who cares, that's awesome!!! And hey, if the 2.0 fits, I'm sure a 2.4 will fit too

they are definitely making it. spending millions for the plant in Ohio for this new engine.

it's likely to be a whole lot better than the RDX, since its based off the Euro Civic type R

I'm going to imagine that little motor stuffed into the Civic Tourer we can't have in the US.

Then I'll be disappointed.

But still. That'd be sweet.

was in two different loaner RDX's with extremely low mileage from my dealership, and BOTH had turbo leaks. The hissing was intense. I hope Honda figured out whatever it was doing wrong.

Wouldn't the turbo system not even be working (or barely working) if there was a leak?

We know the turbo engine family will be produced in 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 displacements, but where does it say that the Si one of the models used?

As far as I know - the Si may not even be offered for the next gen Civic (Source: "Informed" member who has a source at Honda on TOV)

That is probably one of the stupidest things Honda could do, unless they're replacing/rebranding Si with Type R or the like.

You guys see the wing on the Type R? Its the same size as the roof. Makes the STi look like a 2" penis in comparison to the Type R's 10 inch schlong.
