that's interesting. i've messed with lights, paint and body kits, and i've never had an issue when returning my cars.

As long as you haven't significantly diminished the value of the car, they don't really care. I don't think the painted grill falls into that category. Things like fart cans scream "this car was beat on by some punk kid" and therefore do damage the value.

that explains it. all the cars i've returned, i've put 50k+ on each. plus cars that have unique additions to them, are sold off the lot within 2 weeks anyway. you gonna take that boring 50k+ mileage stock tsx, or are you going to choose the one with the tinted windows and the unique black grill blade? i'll take the unique one.

clear bra would protect against noticeable chips, you are correct! thanks will do! what would i do without all of you?

Front bumper needs to be removed and it's a piece of cake. I have the official Acura tech sheets in pdf that show step-by-step how to remove the bumpers (both front and rear) if anyone needs them.

Ok, I haven't been on this forum since I sold the old Honda and bought a new car. I decided not to buy the TL-S because of price with new design around the corner and not to even bother with TSX because of its design and price at the time (last summer, new car, no discount).

This is the first time seeing the TSX with painted grill and first word out of my mouth? "DAAAAAMN"

Good work.

It looks great in black, but I am concerned about other colors.

problem with black though is that it's hard to maintain imo.

I went with grey and I love it.

i got it done guys, but of course the earth spins too fast and it got dark by the time i got home, so my pics will be up tomorrow morning(if the forecasted blizzard misses us). i dont want to post s***y pics of the car in my garage, no point. btw, it is awesome, everyone looking at the car now"what acura is that?". makes the car look like a higher end model, it is not tacky anymore.

they recco'd me NOT to get clearcoat bra, they will fix any chips for a small $ amount if it gets chipped. they said on black, grains get embedded in clearbra and you can see a "grainy look". fyi, they do clearbras themselves, so them not reccomending it means something.

also, illegal in illinois to take off front license plate so i did not have them remove it. that other guy up there is lucky his looks more bad*ss cause no license plate. sorry bout grammar, in a hurry....

thanks again for saving me 150 bucks guys.

p.s., let me know if you still want filthy garage pics.

I hear you, I love the way black looks on most all cars... when it's clean. I've owned 4 different black vehicles when I was younger and as it is said, it was the best of times it was the worst of times.

horrible, there's actually no reason for me to post these. oh well. tmrw.

one thing's or sure, at night, this makes the car look mysterious. people dont know what it is at first, that's why i had so many people staring at me on the way home at dusk. "what is that car?"

here's the daylight pics, not snowing like they said it would. just like derwood's except with license plate.

you know what else this seems to do, is exentuate(sp) the lower lip. it's a trick on the eyes, cause when it was chrome, your eyes were drawn to the chrome milk mustache. now your eyes are free of that prison to notice other things on the car....

If my TSX were black I'd do it in a heart beat, but I have the metalic gray and I'm not sure how that would work out.

This is definitely how the car should have come from the factory. Stupid American Honda designers trying to be bold and failing horribly.

the car looks sharp...job well done.

i think it won't work as good on my car(blue), as it goes in black.
sometimes i feel like painting the chrome out and getting it done to plain "polish grey or dark grey".

I want to see some one do this on a non-black car. I'm curious how it's going to look. My suspicion is that it's going to look just as good as the black.

Glacier blue doesn't mask the black car well so I had to skip it, and someone with a white TSX already painted their grill. I think the white benefits from it the least because the silver helps give it some needed dimension but all these other colors look 100x better. When I get some free time in my schedule I'll have to make some phone calls.

I'm going to print out the picture and hand it to a car painting guy and say "make it happen." My only worry is that he pics depict a high degree of luster and that it might darken the front a lot, also that there's no going back should it suck.

I called the Acura service dept's auto body shop and the quoted $355 due to the need to remove the bumper. Interestingly they said they've done this to TL's in the past. They also say it will chip more easily than the rest of the front end. If anyone gets a cheaper quote in the Seattle area please let me know.

You could always remove the pieces and take just that to the painter. Should save you a bit of cash.

Man that grill makes that car look so much better. Props to both of you guys rocking the black TSX. Graduation is right around the corner and I'm clueless about how to order rims/tires. When the time comes, can someone help me figure out the best fit for a 2009 TSX?

You'd have to mold all the mounting tabs and everything too. It would not be easy to do this and have it fit well. Working with fiberglass sucks.
