In the 2008 Acura TSX brochure for USA destined TSXs, it says premium fuel required.

I've only fueled it up once since getting it and it wasn't a full fill up. It was a little less than half a tank and 11 gallons filled it up. At these prices, I'm afraid to let it go all the way to empty before buying gas!

I am a little older than you, last 3 years been driving a 2006 with recent Hondata.

Trust me, the less the "gubberment" involves themselves in YOUR life, the better off you will be.

Not preaching, but it concerns me that many have such a sense of entitlement.

The rest of the world has had much higher gas prices for years.
The collapse of the dollar, and soon to be massive inflation are culprits.

The sad fact is, the USA has been "Energy Pigs"...you can thank the "gubberment" and their in-action on many fronts.....conservation, alternate energy sources, to name a couple.

It is inexcusable to me that we do not have massive wind and solar farms.

I honestly believe my 2006 TSX will be my last Gas powered vehicle.

I lived thru the era of street hemi-cudas and 427 Vetts sitting at a stop-light with engines sounding "woompata woompata vroom" only to have behind them a Hemi -powered Satellite police interceptor, waiting for the light change.....

I plan on hanging onto the TSX for 4-5 more years, than get a sparkly new Electric
vehicle.....figure there will be many choices with the kinks ironed out by then....

Here is something to think about: Everyone knows what a thousand dollars is. It takes a thousand thousand to make a million dollars -- and a thousand million to make a billion -- and a thousand billion to make a trillion. The U.S. is currently nine trillion dollars in debt (most of it amassed in the last 30 yrs) which amounts to something like $30,000.00 for every man, woman and child in the country. Rather than paying any of it back we will add another 1/3rd trillion to that debt this year. We are currently borrowing much of this money from China and other foreign countries with no solid plans for paying it back. Giving gas-money to people who can afford to buy $30,000.00 cars is not a solution to this problem.

i love my honda civic. i remember i had 10ga tank full. i drove almost 400 miles , still not reach the red line. im seriously consider not to buy the acura tsx anymore just because of the gas.

btw, im a engineering student doing research for fuel cell with my prof right now. and trust me, fuel cell sux!!!! id rather paying more money for gas than buying a fuel cell car in the future.

I was surprised today to find that the MID UNDERestimated mileage for a change.

2006 5AT
154.0 miles
5.461 gallons (previous fill-up: Costco premium on top of Shell premium)
MID: "27.6 MPG"
Actual: 28.199 MPG.

Update:

My car now has 1200 miles on the odo. I did an overnight business trip to Boston. It was 450 highway miles roundtrip and I did it all on one tank of case with some to spare. According to the MID, I got 32.1 MPG. I was doing between 70-75 most of the way. This is in the 6 speed manual model that is rated at 28 MPG on the highway, mind you. So it looks like these babies become much more efficent once they are broken in and the EPA figures for the TSX are conservative.

Although my car is still new and not fully "broken in" yet, I like what I see for mileage so far. I filled up my car the other day (Friday)...have about 120 km on that tank, the needle is still a bit over the FULL and an estimated 815 km left on the computer...mind you the tank is a bit bigger than my previous TSX but thats pretty good and my 120km was all city driving. My indicator is showing an average of 7.9l/100km.....I like this

I might try Shell with my next fill up and see I notice any differences.

Another Canadian here! Winnipeg to be exact. First time poster. Just received my Vortex Blue TSX Premium on tuesday.

It's basically still brand new, got it with 23km on the dial, right now it's sitting just under 200kms. My indicator is at 7.6L/100km, but I do alot of highway driving.

Such a huge difference since i'm coming from an SUV. I'm also loving the MPG so far.

Unless you plan on buying a Telsa Roadster I don't think they'll be any other options as far as electric only vehicles go in 4 to 5 years. Maybe 10.

I know this is pre-mature but, I've dying to post my mpg on here!

Actual mileage: will let ya know on my first fill up still have over 1/4 tank left!

I have been babying the car until the engine breaks in, but I can't be happier w/ what I'm experiencing so far.

By the way, do any of you automatic guys use the the paddle shifters to cheat up to the next gear. I believe this has also been playing a hand w/ my mpg. Of course, this only works when you are cruising on a flat surface/down hill when you don't need extra power.
