They have the same sporting intentions as a stock TSX does. 90% of the market doesn't care how hard the car can maintain a turn.
The problem with the Michelin is what you get for what you pay.
Bridgestone Serenity's have the same "sporting intentions", but better traction in any condition (they both suck in the snow), better mileage expectancy, and a lower price. They're both quiet and comfortable.
Conti Purecontacts, albeit a bit louder, according to a few people, do everything above, but also do well in snow.
I know OP doesn't need to consider snow. I'm just leaving it there as info.

We can agree to disagree, but I'm pretty sure 90% of us here can attest to the poor overall performance of the Pilot MXM4s. If you don't push your car hard and don't drive in the snow, these tires are fine. Otherwise, these tires IMO are one of the worst tires I've ever owned. For its price point, almost every other all season tire is a better option.

Michelin overall is a premier tire manufacturer, but not every model they have sold / marketed has been a home run. We had the Michelin Energy MXV4 S8 tires (OEM) on our Lexus ES350 and were the absolute worst tire I have ever experienced. 50,000 mile warranty and were completely toasted @ 22,000 miles. Keep in mind these were driven by my wife in the aforementioned Lexus (aka - "the cloud"). These were only half a step above bologna skins in the snow.
As an aside (and I'm not a grammar or spelling Nazi) the correct spelling of the South Korean tire manucturer is Hankook, not Hancook or even Hancock and mentioned in this thread.

lol I was thinking iCrap genuinely thinks it's Hancook (or doesn't give a "crap"), and MC Miyoung is calling it Hancock rather purposely

Fair enough guyz. The Pilot HX MXM4s aren't heroic, but they're ok. The name, however, is a horrible alphabet soup.
Michelin positions the Pilot HX as *entry level* sporty whereas the Primacy MXM4 lean more toward "luxury." The Pilot HX did give me better road feel through the steering wheel, but not everyone is into that. With the Primacy, I had to tinker with tire pressures to find the sweet spot. As for mpg, there's no noticeable difference. I'm ok with treadwear -- I tend to change out a 4/32 anyway. The OEM Pilot HX were rated for 40k miles and I switched out at 32k.
Overall, Michelins resist flat spotting better than other brands. They also resist failure, and when they do fail, I find they maintain good control. But yes, their lineup isn't always premium.

The stock michelins were horrible.. I replaced with bridgestone potenza re960's which were amazing and superior in every way for a "sporty" all weather tire. Currently running Contiprocontact run flats which I wouldnt say are better than the re960's performance wise but still all around much better than the stock michelins. Not to say Michelin hasn't made some quality high dollar tires (ps2, super sports), but for the price of the the HX MXM4's you can get a whole bunch better. I dislike how the "pilot" name is thrown on practically every tire as well as bridgestone does with "potenza" I think a lot of times the bigger company's get away with selling a shittier and less quality tire that carries the same "name" as their super rubbers. I have had shitty potenzas (re92's on my stock wrx) and great ones (mentioned above), the same with Michelin's. One thing I have noticed is most of these mid to lower level performance passenger vehicles tend to have not that great a tire from the factory, but will charge crazy amounts for the replacements because it is the "oe" tire. Just do some good research and make the right pick according to your desires (and budget) is what I say.

My OEM MXM4's are done at 23k miles.. I am deciding between the Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Poles and the Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3s. If you go through Costco, from now until 7/5 they have a $70 rebate off a set of 4 Michelin tires.

I can attest to the previous gen poles which were probably the best all around tire I have ever bought and I hear the new ones are even better...
