what is the fuel cutoff for the 4 cylinder TSX?

just curious, because over the past week, i have hit red line in 2nd gear every day and taken it a little further each time. 7000 RPM, 7100, 7200, and i think today i hit about 7400...? with a 7000 RPM redline, does that even sound right? i'm assuming i can even push a little higher to ~7500 RPM before the gas is cut.

i suppose next time i can just keep on the gas until it bangs off of the rev limiter. what's the highest engine speed (not road speed) that you've hit?

7400 is the limiter. The reason why you reached it gradually is probably because the AT tranny is adjusting to your driving style.

I think the op (frescagod) drives a 6MT model. The redline for our 2.4L engine is 7100 rpm, so I think the fuel cutoff is probably between 7400-7600.

7500. Change gear above 7400 so you will stay on vtec

lol, I've banged off the rev limiter a few times in my day, Some times you drop to 2nd gear to pass someone but you're at 6000 rpms when you get in the gear, but you don't realize it.. Yeah took me 2 or 3 times of doing that before If I was going to be that close to the red line i'd just go to third gear.
