Unhappy Fix?

Unhappy Fix?
My 2010 TSX just broke 1,000 miles and I haven't been completely happy with this car. I lowered it, put some wheels on it and then it all went back to stock again in less than a month.
I traded in an 07 Si (boosted) for the TSX and I'm finding myself missing that drive to and from work everyday. That feeling of getting into a car that rewards the driver for driving it... That certain excitement of wanting to get out and just drive.
Should I trade in my TSX for a new EVO X to satisfy that urge? (Horrible hit financially) Or should I just keep it and hope eventually I'll age into it? I'm in my early 30s. I have a 350z (will never sell or trade it in) that I drive on weekends but I also need a sedan due to having a family. Is there an unhappy fix for this car?

-24boosted: If u r really unhappy and u have the financial ability to take a lost on your tsx then do it. lol You should drive a 1st gen TSX. Those things are a joy to drive. Why did Acura have to get rid of the hydraulic steering?

i heard that the MPG's on an RX8 is terrible. My friend has one and gets 14 mpg avg. I have to admit that he is a terrible driver though. lol

Nah, that's a lost cause.
I like the 8's but they are pretty badly hated on Z forums. 7's are badass, not a rotory fan though.
I don't know, how much happiness is worth? LOL
I might just sell it, recoup some losses, and start from scratch at a later date.

With a 350Z for fun, why not just keep the TSX as your DD? I bet you will like it more after you've been driving it a while. You'll grow to appreciate it. If not, then trade it, but I'd give it a chance first.

^^ I agree with the last 2 posts. TSX may not be the most fun to drive, but it's a great DD.

I used to have a modded integra as my DD so I know what you mean about that "feeling".
Personally I think the things that take away from the driving feel in this car are the steering feel, overall size and honestly, the side view mirrors.
The Teg was much easier to maneuver in traffic and the outward visibility was amazing.
Having driven a 6-speed 1st Gen and 2nd Gen I can tell you that AT also kills this car more than anything but hey sometimes you've got to make compromises, right?
If you're looking for a sporty sedan that would complement your Z why don't you consider a 3-series?

My wife wants me to trade it in for something I want since I've been griping about the TSX. She's great and has the Rav4 so it's no big deal if I get another for myself. She could care less about cars but I'm like some of you guys out there and have a weak spot.
I had three impractical cars last year: s2000, Si and Z. Got tired of playing musical cars everyday with limited parking. My wife is cool with my chitty addiction, why I'm open to the idea of trading it in. I'm really trying to limit myself from going poor.

24boosted - happiness is worth alot lol but it shouldnt always come from ur dd. Thats why the Z exists lol In the end man, its up to you.
I dont know much about the Maxima, but its seems like a nice appealing car. I love its muscle car looks. lol Perfect compliment to ur Z too lol according to the new Nissan ads. Good luck!

Do you have a 6MT or a 5AT?
If you have the slushbox, try driving around in sport mode and beating the piss of the engine...it won't hurt.
I wouldn't get an Evo X...it seems like it'd be financial overkill. How about a used VII or VIII? They can be had for pretty reasonable coin nowadays.

You guys have been great here and I enjoyed the TSX but just didn't love it. I just picked up an EVO X GSR. Will post up pics tomorrow. I had the biggest grin on the way home.

lol just imagine ur insurance premium, ed lol Honestly having all that power for a dd car is so frustrating. I am driving my mom's GS right now, and its not fun driving in the city/traffic with all that power not being use. Absolutely the GS is a luxury car not a sports car but playing with 300 hp on the open freeway = . lol
Congrats man! Hope u enjoy ur evo

Well why buy a luxury sedan and expected to be as fast as an evo and then cry about it here. We love our cars!! specially guys like me that have a 6 speed tranny and with custom mods that make this car nothing like stock.

No prob man. Hope to see your wheels soon.
Thanks ed, you are beyond your young age in maturity and complexity. I respect that. Unlike some members on here cough* cough* TSX Ronald*
Thanks man, like I said the TSX was great for daily and super comfortable. I guess I was looking for something else.
Don't get me wrong the TSX is a great car, just not in tune with what I wanted.
I agree, I don't understand why TSXRonald got so butt hurt.
That's a pretty immature and ricer statement you made there. I did trade it in look below for pics.
I never expected it to be as fast as an Evo, go back and reread post #1.

happy for you bro i just wanted to say that in response to the other guy here who was raging on you. congrats on your evo! all flavors of cars are welcome here im sure

I've been so used to driving Honda that I had expected it to feel like all the other models I've ever owned so it was a shock to me when I got used to the TSX and it didn't drive like the previous cars.
The TSX is a very nice car, compared to the Evo, the interior is leagues ahead. The TSX feels like a car that costs more than it actually is.

See now that's a true sports sedan.. Enjoy the evo!!!
