TSX newbie!
Hello all,
I just picked up a 2012 TSX A-Spec and joined the Honda/Acura community after 11 years of owning a Subaru WRX and STi. I must say, after creeping a bit on the forums, you guys seem like an amazing bunch of people! I'm hoping there are more fellow Torontonians from up here in Canada!!
Love the car so far...its quite the difference from AWD, and will definitely take some time to adjust. Any tips/tricks for this newb would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
Chris

11 years, wow! Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the forum, and congratulate you on your new TSX. The guys (and gals) here really are an amazing bunch, a definite rare find on this thing we call the internet. I've learned so much from this forum. Did you get AT or MT? Have any photos? Enjoy!

LOL, you guys are jokes! Thanks for the warm welcome from you all!
Pics are coming...just picked up the car on Thursday, and its a MT (wouldnt get anything else ). I blacked out my entire grill this wknd and pulled the intake silencer box for some noise, wasn't a big fan of the silver and silence lol. I'll definitely post up come pics of my old cars soon as well!
Plans are really only to dump the car and slap my bronze Advan RZ's that I had from my STi (I hope they fit, but from what I've read thus far, they should) They're 18x9 +45 running 235/40, and from what I see the fronts will be close and the rears will be sucked in a bit?
I'm also looking to go with BC Racing coils, had a set with the STi as well and loved them. I know a lot of you are running the Megan EZ Streets, but I'd like to have some shock body adjustment and not blow the shocks!
Any direction/opinions on the parts would be greatly appreciated!

Weclome OP! The turds here in this community are a friendly bunch Advans on the TSX will be nice setup. If you are going for looks, I would run a staggered setup with 255s in the rear and a 10mm spacer to make it flush without poke'age.

Thanks Ben. I just don't want to do any body work.
BTW anyone know how bad the camber will be if I just dump on coils with little to no gap? I come from McPhersons and used to going lower and getting positive camber lol.
And is there any easy way to improve the throttle response? I find it REALLY delayed especially coming from an STi....I hated the switch to drive by wire from my WRX to STi, now it's even adjusting going to a Honda!
Thanks all!

You won't need to do any body work... If you are running 19s most likely. The TSX has some negative camber dialed in the rear already. If you dump it, expect at least a -3.0 in the rear and -2.0 in the front.

Any recommendations on coilovers other than the BC's? Are the BC's even any good for these cars??
Yea Toronto! lol...I'm actually from the West end GTA...

A few of us here myself included are running Megan's and loving it. Granted we don't drive our cars like we stole it, the Megan's have performed well beyond my expectations for a surprisingly affordable set of coilovers. If you are happy with BC, just stick with it and don't mess with the recipe

Woww, 11 years, it's a long time. I'm with Honda for the last 20 years
Anyway, anyone of us used to be Mazda3 owner?
I'm about to buy a hatchback for my Dad, want to know true reviews.

Lucky you I was and am a current Mazda owner. I had a 2008 Mazda 3 2.3 manual and a 2008.5 Speed 3 with navi. The Mazda 3 is a fun and reliable little car. Compared to a standard Civic or Corolla it's definitely sportier and firmer on the ride. Maintenance is cheap and simple. Gas milage is not too shabby.
I traded the Maz 3 in for the Speed 3 back in 2008. The Speed 3 had over 60K on it when I traded it in for the TSX. Never had any issues with the Speed 3 and it was fully bolted on putting down ~350WHP and ~350 lb/ft torque.

Yea, I'm in Mississauga actually! I presume you are a well? Saw a couple of your posts in ...wanted to ask you actually cuz I saw you say a while back that you might try the BC's on your car! Also, are/were you running stock bulbs under your yellow fogs?? I did the same yellow film on my STi and it didnt turn out too well...
I'll probably end up sticking with the BC's as long as I can find a set for a good price, preferably up here....
All my friends always drove Hondas, I always wanted something different, but now I need better mileage lol...I had an '09 STi hatch, and my honest feedback is to never get a hatch again. They look sick, but I bought one thinking it would have more space...I was WRONG

Yeah I'm 15 mins from SQ1, so its pretty close to me.
Life expenses got carried away lol so not lowered atm on BC's I figured maybe next year I can get something going. Possibly by then more options for the TSX are available as well.
I'm running 3000k HID's under my LaminX covered fogs. No they havnt burnt thru yet lol or fogged up. I dunno how peoples are burning up & shit *kanyeshrug*

Wow we're pretty close!! I'm actually right by SQ1. Anyone else on here in the area??
Reason I asked was I actually burned my LaminX on the old car. Guess it depends on how far away the lens is from the bulb. Mind you, I was an idiot for leaving them on during a night road trip down to Virginia...who did it for you btw? Can't seem to find anyone in the area...

Drove a Mazda 3 sedan rental in Maui this winter. Not a bad car but i much prefer my driving my wife's 2012 Civic. tighter feel, better gas mileage, smoother, and quieter. I admit to a Honda bias having owned 3 TSXs, 2 civics, and 4 Accords. My daughter had a Mazda 3 hatch and it was a good car - but i would always take the Honda product for reliability.

Someone was looking for Mazda3 advice? Can't comment on the hatch and it's bigger engine, but I bought my Mom a 2008 3i Touring back in fall of 07. Approaching 125k miles (yes, she drives a lot!) - no problems. She drives through the mountains and on highways - didn't even need brakes until 80k miles or so. Car has the 16 inch alloys with the upgraded package with ABS/SAB, does tend to eat any brand of tire fairly fast.
Only "problem" was that the A/C froze up one time. There was a TSB for it, but car was out of warranty. Turned off for five minutes, never happened again.
They are made in Japan - certainly as reliable as anything else in the class (Corolla, Civic, Golf, etc.) as far as I'm concerned. Hers is an automatic, so I make sure it's gets fresh fluid every 60k, but the rest is just gas, oil, and tires.

Oh, and welcome to the forum and enjoy your new car.
I washed and waxed my CBP today. I always say this...and never keep my word....but I will NEVER have a black car again! So pretty at this very moment, but come tomorrow, it will look dirty again.

The Mazda3 was the most pleasant of the lot and, while a bit anemic (in part because of the altitude) was fine for daily driving and merging. The seats were comfortable and the handling was predictable. The trunk swallowed two 27 inch inch suitcases and two carry-on bags. Four slightly overweight old guys fit in the car and were semi-comfortable on the 70 or so mile trip from Denver to Colo Springs. Over the next month I put about 2k miles on the car and was quite happy with it. Gas mileage was decent and even the base radio was acceptable. Overall a decent car but I too, prefer my wife's Civic.

Agreed on black cars. I used to have one too, and I've always said....they are the hardest to keep clean, but look the best when they are clean. Nothing beats a freshly waxed, shiny ass black car! Then again, white isnt too shabby either

im baaaack!!
Welcome to The tsx community. We have a lot of cool helpfull people here. If you are not happy with The throttle delay you should buy a sprint booster. It eliminates The delay From drive by wire system. Also im running tein basics and they are awsome plus affordable. Those advans should look great i would add a 15mm spacer in The rear The front should sit nice.
