Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know the brand of the music system that comes installed with the '09 Base TSX ?

The base system is unbranded, but the components are thought to be designed by Alpine and manufactured by Panasonic or Pioneer.

The base system is branded as Acura Premium Sound System, but no auto manufacturer actually manufactures its own sound systems. It is my understanding that the head unit, amp, and speakers are supplied by Panasonic.

100% true. As an engineer, it is much cheaper to buy products from companies than to acutally invest all the money into manufacturing parts in house. Why spend all this money developing your own stuff when another company out there already has something thats better and cheaper.

Alot of what goes on inside companies that produce products is just design and assembly. Not just car companies but almost everything follows this structure. Company A engineers designs and spec's out component or part. Company B gets the order/contract to produce a ton of it. Company B sends it back to Company A where it gets assembled by Company A employees.

The tech package sound system w/ ELS is a Panasonic unit. So I guess it safe to assume that the "non ELS" system is also a Panasonic unit too...

It is manufactured by Panasonic, but it has always been an Alpine design. There has been a longstanding relationship between the two companies for over 20 years.
