I know this is old....but how tall are you guys with the baby seats? Looking to get a Recaro, but don't want to have to sit way up if the Recaro is to big. Looked around on Amazon and in most cars people can fit with enough room! Any pics of the Recaro in the TSX?

styling are you going to front face your child if so its more than enough rear facing is a tight fit though front theres soo much room one thing i hated about my 1st gen it had no damn space for the seat so no one could sit in the front without messing up my view of my side mirror

Front face = Plenty of room. Even more room if you put the baby seat behind the passenger seat, so you can remain in a comfortable position.
Two things I do recommend:
1 - Place a towel or some kind of cushion beneath the baby seat to prevent damage to your leather.
2 - Also place a towel on the back of the passenger seat (or driver, depending on where you put the baby seat) to prevent your kid from scratching it all up with his feet. Don't ask me how I know.

My wife's element has the recaro toddler seat. <-- hella pimp, racing blue color. I have a 2 and a 6 year old. They have no problem with the one 5 point harness and the other with booster seat. I'm 6' flat.

I've no problems fitting a Graco Nautilus and a Britax Boulevard, but it's a tight fit and there is virtually no space between them. My daughter is 3 and uses the Britax, but even for her leg room is tight behind me and I'm only 5'10". I've since switched to her using the Nautilus since my son is now big enough to use a backless booster. I can't imagine using a rear facing seat back there, unless it's in the middle, but it seems that some of you have made it work. If you need specific seat protectors, there are a ton on Amazon that all fit the TSX pretty well. I have full sized one that protects the leather seat behind the child seat and underneath it, as well as a half sized one that just slides underneath but doesn't go up all the way. My kids don't kick the back of the front seats, at least not since they started getting disciplined for it.

I have a newborn on the way and have a rear facing Chicco Keyfit 30. We put it behind the passenger and my 5'1" wife is a bit cramped in the front. We tried a 2nd newborn carseat and it was a bit smaller and had a bit more room. It does look like the front facing ones fit fine though.

Anyone have pictures of the Recaro ProRide in their 2nd gen TSX? I'll be rear facing till 30 lbs or whatever they recommened. I'm 5'10 and my wifes 5'2, but I just want to make sure that my wife will be able to sit without being real close to the air bag.
Yeah I will be getting the seat back/under the baby seat protectors!

she should be fine. My wife is 5'6" and we had the ProRide for abouth a month in the TSX before switching to the ProSport

Sweet. Did you switch to the ProSport because of your child getting bigger? Any issues with ProRide that you did not like? How far could your wife have the seat back with the ProRide faced in the rear?

no issues except we got the suade material which isnt the easiest to clean and gets hot. We switched to the ProSport because he is now front facing and we got the non-suade material. He's a big boy
The seat was fine. It wasn't all the way back but she could still sit in the back comfortably at its current setting.

To answer the original question NO.
Not sure if the wagon vs sedan is different. I have the wagon, but coming from my accord the space is tighter. Pretty frustrating if you ask me. If you use the tethers I'm sure it will be fine. But if you want to use the buckle as with a booster seat you will be frustrated. Seems that the base of t seat is not wide enough to accommodate the booster seat. I get it in but have to sweat a bit. Forget about my little one trying to do it.
If you are going to have to copntiniously buckel then in and of a booster I would reconsider. Again If youteher the seat in and use a 5 point harnes you will be okay. It's getting at the buckles that will give you fits.

That reminds me, I need to get another one for my daughter, who will be graduating into a booster soon.

Agreed on the booster issue, it is tough, which is why many of us went with those seat belt extensions.

Glad another person found that info useful. It really does help a lot, especially when you're in a hurry. My main warning would be to make sure your extenders are secure every journey because once in a while your child may unbuckle the entire extender by accident, and not think to re-secure it.

I would stay away from full-suede baby seats. Getting something that is easily removable and washable is key. We have a Britax Boulevard; it's big, but it's a damn good seat. Used it for both my kids and washed the covers from multiple spills and other accidents and it's still in great shape. Not to mention, it's still pretty highly rated in terms of safety too.

I never thought about removing the inserts and just throwing them in the wash. Can you do that with most seats? This will be my first kid, so I'm still in the mind set that there will be not eating food in the car seat and it will stay somewhat clean. However, everyone says that will not last long and they will have blow outs, puking etc.
