TPMS question

does the tpms in our cars have batteries?

Of course they do. As a general rule, you will need new sensors every six to seven years.

any guide on how to do this? i got some used RDX tpms i dont know how old they are and would like to change the battery before i use them

Interesting to note that since there are advanced batteryless TPMS the battery or no battery is a valid question these days. Batteryless use inductively coupled circuits for non-contact transmission of power and data across the rotating wheel chassis boundary. But as ceb noted Acura uses battery powered units. I've got two sets of Acura TPMS and although I've never changed the batteries they do seem to automatically link and calibrate without the use of an external controller which is convenient.

You can't change them. The entire unit needs to be replaced.
