Tire pressure monitors
My pressure was like this for some reason:
39 33
33 33
So I let out some air on the 39 down to 33. A couple months later (very little driving in between, maybe once every 2 weeks), it's back to
39 33
33 33
What are the likely causes of this phenomenon? Faulty TPM? Damaged tire getting stretched out?
I guess I can buy a separate gauge to double-check but that kinda defeats the purpose of the TPMs

could just be a leak too

I had some goofy readings, it turned out to be my pressure gauge and an air compressor that wasn't working. Shop said the sensors were good, warning was off. Bought a new compressor and a new gauge.

I used a compressor (or whatever those are called that is powered by the cig lighter adapter to air my tires. The machine has a built-in gauge that it uses to automatically stop at the preset PSI. I reset all 4 tires to 35 PSI.
The front left tire had to drain some air first. Which gets me back to the potential situation of a reverse leak?? Or osmosis?? So weird. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks or months if it ever happens again.

It is unlikely that the tpms sensors offer an inaccurate reading. Unless, of course, someone put fix a flat in the tire. However, if that were the case, you would have one that reads little to no pressure, due to the stop leak chemical plugging up the orifice in the sensor. Although I see this issue frequently at the shop, it is obviously not what you are dealing with. Does your car sit in such a way that the one tire is going to be significantly hotter than the other three?
