Noob question: How much does tinting approximately cost for you guys? and if you have gotten your tinting done, how long did it take and what &'s? Thank you (:

 

depends on the quality you want.
any no name brand or lower quality brand will run you from $100-200 for your car.
if you want an upper tier quality tint you will pay about $350-450 for your car.

it should take any shop with pros in it about 3 hours or so to do it all right.

% you get is pure preference.

I myself have one of the upper tier quality tints, with 15%. being the quality that it
is, when I am inside the car the windows do not even look tinted at all, it's crystal clear.
but outside it's nice and dark. it also does not interfere at all with any radio, navigaion,
bluetooth or any other signal. plus I have a lifetime replacement guarantee against
any scratching, bubbling, fading, peeling or anything else that could go wrong.

it's all preference and budget really.

 

Also be sure to check your local laws as to how much you can tint. In Maryland its 15% front and 35% back, whereas in Virginia its 35% front and back. I believe it all depends and what state your vehicle is registered to. I don't think Florida has a limit (or its really high) for tinting...

 

Yeah im aware of the limits, me being here in California, any % around the car is fine, except for the front windows @ 70% -_-. MMsTSX, how much did you get yours for?

 

i got Llumar tints for my car. 28 in the Front, 20s in the back. but this is florida. i got it for $140 since I know the guy. Was originally going to run me $180. not bad at all

 

I too have Llumar, but I have their Axcess tint.
I believe it was $350, and I believe regular Llumar at that shop is $160.

 

You must have it backwards. 15% is darker than 35%.

 

I have 3M 7pieces, 35% done for $280. It was pricey, but the best looking tint out of all my cars that ever got tinted.

well I still drive my integra with 35% tint fr+rear, been pulled over 3 times, and the officer never commented on the tint.

I have friends with 20% all around and have gotten fix-it tickets repeatedly for it. I guess it just depends.

 

Haha so what have those 3 times been from? Speeding, DUI, blah blah?

 

um stupid stuff. rolling stop signs (2am), left turn out of a parking lot and my exhaust was missing a gasket, then campus police pulled me over for suspicion of no front plate (did plate relocation).
Only got a ticket for the left turn, and warning for the exhaust. Contested, and got my refund.

 

Where did you get it tinted? I'm in the east bay and just got my TSX last night. What % did you do in front?

 

I did it at Tint King in San Bruno, but they have another shop in Livermore. I did 35% on all 7 windows, and he was willing to do the front windshield. You can call the San Bruno one, ask for Doug, and tell'm the silver TSX sent you.

 

I got 40% 3M tint and VentureShield clear bra for $600.

 

I'm getting it tinted right now as we speak. 35% all around using 3M. It'll be done in 3 hours. I'm all anxious..

It's gonna be $280. The Suntek was 250 and I don't want radio/cell interference.

Update: Got my car tinted last week and finally got some sun yesterday. Car is dirty though because I knew it would rain today and all of next week so didn't bother to wash it.

I just got my TSX on Friday Night and I've been loving it ever since. I get sooo manyyy complements on this vehicle and so much respect on the road (compared to my little civic I had).

I'm about to tint my car in a few minutes. I had my civic tinted with 10% in the front and 15% in the rear. So far after having that vehicle for 2 years I got stopped once and was summoned $120 (NYC, $60 per front window).

My TSX is has a Crystal Black Pearl exterior/Ebony interior. It already looks dark inside during the night so maybe I'll go with 20% all around.

If anyone in NYC wants tints on thier car for a good price just let me know.
