Synthetic Transmission oil.

I'm thinking about going to a synthetic oil in my transmission. Anyone have any suggestions on a good quality brand? Red Line. Royal Purple, Mobile 1?

Thanks in advance.

I'm using Royal Purple. I put in roughly about 4.5 quarts and a mobil 1 filter. I don't know if it's me.. but the pulley part of the engine sounds to be a little louder.. engine wise.. I don't know..

Yours is an auto, right Lou? Everyone has preferences on lube, CTE carries RedLine, I figure there's prolly a good reason for it.

I've used Mobil1 forever. Ease of obtaining it is a consideration for me. If I'm in Pahokee, Fl, there's a Wally Mart with it usually on the shelf.

We sell the Honda/Acura MTF to a lot of race teams in the area. I have heard from almost everyone that it is some of the best manual transmission oil made. Are you have some sort of problems?

Stay with Honda MTF. I've used every brand and it's the only one that works well consistently at all temp.

Down side is that you have to change it more often since it does get thinner with age and high temperature. I change my MTF every year.

Oops, sorry Lou, I see on your sig about the 6MT now.

I haven't flushed & filled my 6MT yet, but I will stand by the M1.

On a side note, many people think the Honda MTF is 10/30 (10/40?)motor oil. You can smell the gear additive in the Honda stuff though.
