Steering wheel bumps at 8 & 4

I bought a super clean preowned 09 TSX. I noticed a small bump under the leather at the 8:00 position and in the same exact place at 4:00. Its on the outside of the steering wheel and doesn't seem like it should be there. I didn't even notice it the first week. Defect or is this how they are?

FWIW, I have an '09 and the bumps are also there. I would venture to guess that they are intentional

Are you talking about the bumps on 2, 4 , 8 and 10 o'clock position. If so, it's normal. The 2 and 10 positions also have thicker padding for proper driving position.

Actually no. They're more like slight bulges (like something under the leather) on the outer side of the wheel. Looking at your photo it would be on the lower left near the top of your circle and matching on the lower right. Its not the stitching nor the 10 + 2 positions. I'll try to get a photo taken.

^In that case, you should get it replaced under warranty.

I'm usually pretty OCD and notice stuff like this, so I went and checked my steering wheel today and the bumps are indeed there. They are very subtle, but they are there, and they do not appear to be part of the stitching (stitching is on the inside of the wheel, anyway).
