Sport Pedals Installed [pics]
So it was a gorgeous day outside and i figured i should get off my ass and install these while i had the chance. Rain tomorrow and wednesday so the cars gonna be garaged for the next 2 days and its too cramped to work in the garage. My main reason for adding these is because ever since i installed ambient lighting in the car I can really see my feet when i drive, and the gross stock pedals, and i wanted to nice it all up down there. Anyway, here are the pics:
Look how disgusting this is. The manufacturer didnt even install my brake pedal correctly. This is an obvious joke, I know someone is gonna comment on this. Shame on you Acura. We should have gotten aluminum pedals stock.
And now the after:
Ah. Much better. The install was super easy, i wouldve made a DIY but it was not necessary, the only required tool is a power drill and some bits.
So i bought the pedals from StrutKing. The shipping was frighteningly fast (1 day) and the sales people were pretty cool and helped me measure the pedals before they shipped em out, this is the link to the exact set i bought:
http://www.strutking.com/products/TL...Pedal-Set.html
I know it says TL but as you can see it fits the TSX quite nicely. the accelerator pedal I must admit, is not an exact fit, but when installing just slide it up a centimeter and its perfectly flush. Brake pedal goes on without any issues. At $69.00 its a hell of a lot cheaper than OEM sport pedals which clock in around 300 with shipping.
Now i know what you are thinking:
"But KillerG, you are missing the dead pedal you jackass, girls are going to sit in your car and NOT have sex with you once they realize you dont have an aluminum dead people"
well, A) Fuck You, and B) I ordered some fucking weathertech mats which nicely cover up the dead pedal and eliminate my need for one.
At the moment you have no choice for an aluminum dead pedal except for the OEM variety which like i mentioned earlier costs two arms and two legs. Although if you insist, i have a DIY solution for you that involves aluminum foil, elmers glue, and raisins. Strutking sales people mentioned that they ordered some test pieces to see if they could get a dead pedal to fit a 2G TSX so that may become an option in the future
enjoy the night shot:

Wow. I like your humour. Anyways looks great. This is another thing for my wish list. You said it wasn't a perfect fit but you were able to get it to fit right?

Dude that looks amazing...
Holy shit I might wanna try it now.
KillerG is probably the only person on these forums to be able to write something serious and have people laugh their asses off at the same time.

yeah kowloon, its a bit off, it ends up a half centimeter off the bottom, its hard to see but maybe u notice it in the pics. For anyone who installs this, i recommend only placing the BOTTOM 4 screws on (out of 6).
Fitting it was a little wonky in the beginning but once I had one of the middle screws on i realized that it was gonna sit on the pedal very nicely. 3 screws later and i was happy.
I went for a test drive and my car has yet to explode so I will also vouch for their safety

and as far as me potentially toyota-ing myself (ed brought up the safety issue)
it seems pretty o-k to me at the moment, i took it for a test drive, went to burger king, and grabbed a #6 no tomatoes no onions and small fries, then i drove home, ate my lunch, and was still ok
Regardless, If I die, ill let you guys know

pbhak has notified me that strutking.com is currently down. My pedal set pics must have caused a massive influx of visitors (3-4 people) and it may have crashed their website. It should be back up soon. After doing my research though this was the best possible place to get em so i'd wait

I had a set of Strut King Pedals before getting the OEM version. Just order the ones for 04-08 TSX and ask to skip the dead pedal (doesn't fit-too small) and make sure you use galvanized screws as the ones provided started to seep rusty liquid stuff out a month after installation. Rains a lot up here in Vancouver.
Love the weathertech mat also, just bought a set off craiglist a couple of weeks ago for $125 (owner totaled her TSX before she had a chance to install it - brand new still in the box).

oooh thanks for the headsup tech. If i ever see any juice ill be sure to swap em out. Thankfully with my corolla in tow i usually never have to drive in the rain unless i get ambushed by it.
nice buy on the mats. i skipped the back seats since they are pretty unused for me
