So the tsx sport wagon is the slowest selling car in America...
I've never been much of a wagon person (of any make) but I find this somewhat hard to believe...

Surprised the MDX is up there... the TSX Wagon being 1 is kinda surprising too, i've seen quite a few in my area.

When I heard 2 other Acuras, I figured ZDX and RLX. MDX really surprises me. It's ugly (what Acura isn't these days?...), but people love their SUVs and I see a fair number of them. But the article is generally pretty superficial in content, for example, saying that ILX *only* comes with manual transmission.

Wagons stink. The TSX wagon is okay. ILX doesn't surprise me at all (it got panned in most reviews). The MDX is puzzling, but maybe it has to do with the new generation? I'm not really sure.

the '13 MDX sat on lots b/c of redesign. The wagon and the ILX are not surprising at all. my dealer eliminated most of their '13s by the time the '14 debuted.

The TSX wagon is surely because when people want utility and then compare it to the new RDX with a 6AT and V6 and AWD, the TSX wagon is a hard sell especially if they don't have as much selection/availability. This is one reason I don't see a TLX wagon happening. There are so many crossovers doing the job of wagons that wagons are too risky. Another reason is more longwinded but involves dealership management & staff. Especially with a wagon, if you don't "get it", you can't pass that wagon love on to a prospective buyer. Funny thing is that I don't think the TSX as a sedan is the best choice in the segment, but the wagon is the silent winner for the wagon segment. There is nothing...NOTHING...in the market to truly compare it to. Higher end than a VW but way cheaper than Germans create an interesting niche that Acura has not known how to capitalize on.
Resale value on wagons and manuals are interesting. There are cars that come out that speak to the enthusiast, but maybe they just keep waiting for the used car market. Dealers can't seem to give them away when new, and then they hold a significantly higher resale value later once they are no longer available. It's not like we're going to make money on a used TSX wagon, but I feel like our resale value is going to be solid once it's gone. My '98 M3 sedan has a much higher value compared to the originally more expensive coupe. Look at the '05 Subaru Legacy wagon GT (only year for 5MT). Volvo V70R- When I worked at a Volvo dealer, the owner scoffed at how the V70R 6MT was literally unsellable, and yet I'd almost give my left nut for a grey V70R 6MT with Atacama leather. If you have a V70R 6MT, or anything with Atacama leather, you're now guaranteed a quick sale at the higher end of the market price. I'll quit ranting now.

it's a car-drive it
I also see a lot of tsx wagons in my travels. Do not know what the dealers I use have in inventory as of now. Not in the market of buying until later.

My dealer just sold a white 2012 tech for 29k. I bid on it for 25 but the wouldn't budge for a customer that's bought 12 new Acura/Honda's since i was 19yo back in 98'. It put a bad taste in my mouth. I want this car. I'll find a used one in due time.

Knew it was bad. Just not THIS bad.
I still think its a great value for folks no longer wanting suv's but still want space and a good fun dependable great gas mileage ride.
...of course all those who agree with me could fit in a small hotel ballroom it would appear

On doesn't buy a wagon in the US for resale - one buys it because one wants the good attributes of a SUV without the downsides.
The TSX wagon drives the same s the sedan, it has the same real world gas mileage and many would say it looks better - were it not for the "wagon" name. Had Acura sold it as a crossover with some ugly plastic cladding then it may sell better.

Wagons have been a niche market in the US since the advent of the SUV. Somewhere in the early '90's, the love affair with wagons shifted from the Roadmaster Estate/Country Squire/Chevy Caprice to the SUV and wagons became the odd car out driven by Volvo and Subaru treehuggers or diesel'ites that loved old Mercedes wagons.

That's exactly what the RDX is. It's a great combination of a TSX wagon an TL drivetrain/features even if they dropped the sport from the previous RDX. Not surprisingly, it is selling great.

Yea I dont care too much about going super fast in an Acura wagon... just for looks. I want one soooo bad. But yea they're not cheap at all. With a kid on the way the wagon would be awesome.

I see tons of LR2s, Muranos, and XC90s on the road.
I expected to see cars like the Mitsu Galant, Mitsu Outlander, or Chevy Sonic.

Why isnt McLaren or Fisker on that list?

The problem is, whatever wagon owners say makes it sound like we are "defending" the car - which needs no defending.
Days in inventory is just one measure of a car's popularity. Actual sales are another indicator and these cars all fared far worse than the 169 sold in August
#130 Mitsubishi Galant 76
#131 Volvo S80 157
#132 Volvo C30 92
#133 Jaguar XK 66
#134 Mitsubishi i MiEV 30
#135 Nissan GT-R 123
#136 Audi A3 23
#137 Audi R8 76
#138 Dodge (SRT) Viper 61
#139 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class 27
#140 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG 32
Accordingly, one could say that the TSX wagon is in the same class as the Mercedes SLS AMG

Also, what about Hummer? No one buys those pieces of shit anymore.

If hummers were still being made other than being really obnoxious rolling up in one (since most people try to show off and put 26's on it) I'd buy one as the winter car... Aside from a few more toys (In my dreams).

I traded my wife's 2011 MDX for a 2012 TSX Wagon with tech and couldn't be happier. The car is comfortable, sporty, and the gas mileage is way better than the MDX.
We get compliments all the time how sporty it is and the cargo space in the back is actually bigger than the MDX's when the 3rd row is up (which we rarely had).
The wagon is a more economical alternative to small to mid-sized SUVs. I'm surprised it's on the list.

By sporty, they mean not frumpy and ugly like they think of wagons. It looks sleek and therefore "sporty". Compliments aren't "all the time", but they do come
More than any other car I've owned.

I've had a slew of cars - including vintage MBs and none got nearly the attention of the TSX wagon.

LOVE my wagon, SUV capacity with a sedan ride and handling and I also get 30+ MPG. Sportwagon also has a near 50/50 weight distribution so it handles like a dream.
US is the only country that wagons don't sell, seems we all think bigger is better and must have a HUGE SUV when most of the time we're hauling sailboat fuel.
