Scratch Fix?
Scratch Fix?
I am the happy owner of a new 09 TSX auto with tech. I have a half-crescent shaped dime sized scratch on my rear bumper where I can actually feel the scratch (meaning it's rather deep). What's the best way to repair this short of a body shop? Also, what's the best way to get rid of a light scratch on the plastic chrome in the front of the car (the controversial "face")?
Thanks for your help.

Let me tell you the backround story, my car had crazy water spot etchings on the car and it was most noticeble on the chrome and on teh windows. I looked around on teh internet and people said using grade 000 steel wool with meguiars scratch x removes them. So i tried doing this and the etchings were gone and i noticed that the chrome was scratch free. I was so carried away that i did this on the actual paint of the car
, i wasnt paying attention until i found out that the steel wool left bigger scratches on the car(luckily it was only on a small portion of the roof of the car)
I do notice that the small scratches keep comming back, im not sure if its just naturally done or if its from the steel wool. But Im going to try to use a clean micro fiber towel instead of the steel wool the next time and see if that helps.
I'd recommend that if you guys do try this, try using a micro fiber towel first to see if it still removes the fine scratches. If that doesnt work try using the steel wool in a small area gently to see if it works for you.
btw there's no complicated procedures to remove the markings, just dab a decent amount of meguiars scratch x on the (towel/steel wool) and wipe over the area. then wipe the area with a damp microfiber towel.
